AUTHOR'S POV

The school was buzzing with noise and chaos—nothing new. Students rushed through the hallways, some gossiping, some panicking over assignments, and others just vibing with their groups. The upcoming annual function had everyone either excited or stressed, but for Yukti and her best friends, it was something to look forward to.

As soon as the girls entered the class, Anaya stretched her arms dramatically.

“Lunch ke baad hume dance practice pe jaana hai. Thankfully, isse woh boring classes attend nahi karni padengi.” She grinned, already excited.

Eshana smirked, flipping her hair.

“Finally, something fun in this school. Waise bhi, studies se zyada zaroori toh humara dance hai.”

Vani laughed.

“Haan, aur mujhe kisi ki nazar se bachne ka bhi bahana mil jayega.” She side-eyed Yukti teasingly, making her roll her eyes.

“Oh, shut up, Vani,” Yukti muttered, trying to act casual, but the slight pink dusting her cheeks betrayed her.

Before anyone could tease her further, Nia, the girls’ school president, walked into the class, radiating her usual confident aura.

“Hope you guys are prepared for the function. I don’t want any last-minute panic attacks,” she announced, her tone carrying authority.

“We’re good, don’t stress,” Yukti replied smoothly. As class president, she was used to these conversations, but the real excitement was waiting outside—dance practice.

The auditorium was filled with students rehearsing their performances, laughter and music echoing through the space. Yukti and her best friends took their spots, warming up for their routine. Everything was going fine… until her gaze landed on the group of boys lounging near the back.

Arhaan.

He sat with his arms crossed, listening to something Ishan was saying, but his expression was unreadable, like always. Rudra and Aryan were equally unbothered, just observing the chaos in front of them. Unlike Yukti and her friends, none of them had signed up for any performances. Typical.

“You’re staring,” Vani whispered, nudging Yukti.

Yukti immediately looked at her

"Yes, I am". Yukti replied with smirk

“Yes, you are,” Eshana chimed in, grinning.

“Kya soch rahi thi? Kitne handsome lag rahe hain?”

“Ya phir kaash wo tumhe notice kare?” Anaya asked

“Kab nahi lagte hai?". Yukti asked making gurls nearly roll their eyes

"Ye ladki sahi me pagal hogyi hai". Vani said

"Sahi me, let's do practice now". Eshana said and the group now start choosing songs for their dance

Meanwhile, outside the auditorium, Reyansh leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching the dance practice from a distance. He had zero interest in these things, but something felt off. His gut told him there was something Yukti wasn’t telling him. And when it came to his sister, he didn’t like secrets.

Rudra was leaning lazily against the doorframe, his eyes locked onto Eshana as she practiced. His usual teasing smirk was missing, replaced by something deeper—an obsession he didn’t bother hiding.
