?Such a funny thing for me to try
to explain How I'm feeling and my
pride is the one to blame 'cause I
know I don't understand Just how
your love can do what no one else can?

[ A CEEDEE LAMB FANFIC ]...
As the game kicked off, the Cowboys were playing well better than I expected. We all know they weren't the greatest team but there's times where they play so elite. Which was what they were doing right now.
Through the second quarter, the stadium let out screams as CeeDee made a touchdown. Aaiden was partically bouncing in his seat, yelling at the top of his lungs. I cheered with everyone else with excitement, the Cowboys were in the lead.
My eyes followed him refusing to look away. And the longer I stared, the harder it was to ignore the memories creeping in. The way he touched me as if he never wanted to let go, the way he kissed me had left an effect on me and till this day it's still there. He did everything just right, making it hard for me to think about anything else.
"Enjoying the view?" my mama nudged me, bringing me out my gaze.
"Mom, stop"
"I've seen the way you be looking at him. It's okay to have a crush, Yarmani. Just be careful with that one" She tells me, emphasizing "be careful".
"Please, having a crush is childish. And If I had one it wouldn't be CeeDee" I rolled my eyes.
"Sure" she said amused.
CeeDee stood off to the side with reporters after scoring his touchdown. After they left, he walked back to sidelines. He looked over to our section, and for a split second our eyes met.
Instead of looking away, he waved at me. My heart did a little flip, but I kept my cool, lifting my hand waving back quickly, hoping no one noticed. I forced myself to focus back on the game, but it was easier said than done. Because now, every time CeeDee stepped onto the field, I found my eyes drifting to him.
I have a staring problem I know, but it's like I can't help myself.
After the final whistle blew, sealing a Cowboys win, the stadium erupted into cheers. Aaiden was jumping up and down, screaming at the top of his lungs. "Dad, you did it! I told you!" he yelled excitedly as the players made their way off the field.
Trevon spotted us near the tunnel and waved us down. "Come on," Mom said, nudging me forward. "Let's go meet him."
We followed the crowd toward the family and friends section near the locker rooms. Players passed by, some stopping to greet their families, others laughing and celebrating. Trevon appeared, sweaty but grinning, giving Aaiden a fist bump before pulling him into a hug. "Told you I'd show out, huh?"
"You did! I knew it!" Aaiden cheered.
"Good game, baby," Mom said, kissing Trevon on the cheek. "Y'all played great."
"Yeah, yeah, I'll admit it was okay," I say, earning a side-eye from him.
"Okay? Bruh, that was more than just okay!" he laughed before draping an arm around my shoulders. "Glad you're back in Dallas, though. You bringing good luck."
Before I could respond, a deep voice cut in. "Nah, we played great 'cause of me."
"Man, you got lucky today" Trevon dapped him up.
"Lucky? You saw that touchdown" CeeDee chuckled.
"Shit wouldn't happen if I was the one on you. Would've lock yo ass up" Trevon joked, making CeeDee mug him. Then he walked off leaving CeeDee and I alone.
"So how you've been, Yarmani?" he asks me.
"I've been good. What about you?"
"Same. Good to see you made it out here. It's been a minute" he said, smiling showing off his pearly whites.
"Has it?" I returned a smile back.
"Dunno, it feels like it" CeeDee shrugged.
"I've just been busy settling in Dallas, that's why"
"Good, that means I'll be seeing you around more."
I tilted my head. "Who said you'll be seeing me?"
"Me, can't have you disappearing on me again." he smirked slightly.
The way he said it, smooth and teasing, and for a second neither of us spoke. Then, he spoke up, "You ever think about that night."
I knew exactly what he was talking about, but I played it cool. "Sometimes, I guess"
"So, that's a yes"
"I didn't say that"
"You didn't have to"
I opened my mouth, ready to say something but then I heard my mama call me. "Yarmani!"
My soul damn near jumped out of my body hearing her yell, I took some steps back from CeeDee before she had any ideas in her head about us.
"You coming back to the house or you going home?" she asked.
I glanced at CeeDee, who was watching me like he was waiting to see what I'd say. "I'ma go back to the house" I told her. She nodded her head, then shifted her attention to CeeDee.
"Good game today baby, you played good out there".
"Appreciate it, Miss Diggs" he said with a smile. "Glad y'all can make it out"
"Well, Yarmani I'll see you when you get to the house." she say before walking off.
"Guess I'll see you around" I heard CeeDee say.
I turned my focus back to him. "Yeah..see you around"
