THEIR TRIP TO SEATTLE had been exhausting. Traffic jams, bad weather and a flat tire had thrown more than a few obstacles in their way, but they had overcome that too without wanting to kill each other like some other couples. No, they hadn't even argued and tried to take it with humor.
Since they had spent a night in a hotel halfway through the trip, they weren't dead tired when they finally arrived at Randi's apartment. So that they could get back to Charming as quickly as possible, the first boxes were already packed and stacked next to the front door.
While Happy kept packing everything Randi wanted to take with her into boxes, she took photos of her furniture. "Do you think anyone's gonna buy these things? I don't really want to stay any longer than planned and the landlord wants his keys in three days."
Happy looked up, studying his fiancée with the smallest smile as she concentrated on putting everything on marketplace. Every line on her forehead with her lip caught between her teeth and her eyebrows drawn together were things Happy couldn't get enough of. He loved just looking at her, watching her expression change with each task.
At her question, he shrugged. "We'll see. If not, I'll talk to Lee and see if we can store your stuff in their small warehouse in Tacoma."
Randi looked up from her phone, letting the device sink into her lap, still sitting cross-legged on the floor. "Would you do that? I mean, I could leave the stuff here, but I really need the money until I find another job."
"You know you don't need money when you're with me", the SAA grunted as he put the last book in the box on the dining table. Crossing the room with, he crouched down in front of her, grasping her chin in his hand. "I know you want to be independent and that's okay, but you also know that I'll take care of you, little girl."
"You already do so much for me", she whispered with a genuine smile as his thumb rubbed circles against her skin. "But I still want to bring something to the table, Hap. I can't just sit at home and do nothing."
Happy nodded understandingly, but he still stuck to his words. "You won't. Someone as determined as you will find a job, but until then I don't want you to worry about anything."
She still didn't know that Clay and Jax were already looking for the perfect vacant property so that Randi could open her own dance studio. That was going to remain a surprise, which is why Happy didn't even try to help her find a job that she might have to quit after a few days or weeks anyway.
"I'm not worried, not as long as I have you", she replied before stealing a quick kiss from his lips. "Okay, I think we should leave soon. Steven should be at dance school right now and I just want to get this over with."
"I still think you should stay here", Happy rasped, his muscles already tense as soon as that name had fallen from Randi s lips. "Just give me all the papers and I'll take it to him."
