The air reeked of smoke and ruin, embers dancing like fireflies in the night. The battlefield was an inferno, a dying world swallowed in the merciless embrace of flame. The once-proud banners of the kingdom lay tattered and scorched, their colors dulled beneath the oppressive heat. Shadows flickered against the crumbling ruins, stretching long and distorted, as if mourning what had been lost.
(C/N) Cookie stood amidst the wreckage, chest rising and falling with ragged breaths, their grip tight around their weapon. It should have been impossible to recognize the figure standing before them—no longer the Cookie they once knew, but a harbinger of destruction.
Burning Spice Cookie.
The Cookie who had once whispered promises beneath the stars, who had held their hand in the quiet of dusk. The one who had led with unwavering resolve, a beacon of both wisdom and strength. Back then, they had been strict but kind—a true leader, not a tyrant. They had carried the burdens of others, shouldered the weight of the world without complaint.
And now, they had become this. A monster, laughing amidst the wreckage of all they had once protected.
"Oh, I'd let the world burn for you," the voice coiled through the night like smoke, the melody a ghostly whisper against the roaring inferno.
"You did," (C/N) Cookie spat, eyes dark with betrayal. "You burned everything. You burned—us."
Burning Spice Cookie only chuckled, the heat around them distorting the air, making it hard to tell where the flame ended and they began. Their smirk was playful, almost loving, but their eyes held no remorse—only an unquenchable hunger.
"Oh, darling," they purred, stepping forward, leaving molten footprints in their wake. "Where do you think I came from?"
"I'd let the world turn to ashes... if only to see you smile..."
The song wove itself into the night, a lullaby to the destruction they had wrought. (C/N) Cookie's hands trembled, the weight of history pressing down on them. It hurt. It hurt so much.
"Go to hell," they hissed, raising their weapon, their heart hammering against their ribs.
Burning Spice Cookie only tilted their head, eyes glowing with something unreadable. "I'm already there, love. And I'm waiting for you."
Flames curled around them like a lover's embrace, and for the first time, (C/N) Cookie wasn't sure if they were looking at their past... or their future.
With a cry of rage, (C/N) Cookie lunged, their weapon slashing through the air. Burning Spice Cookie met them with a grin, swinging twin burning axes that carved through the smoke like molten stars. The clash sent a burst of heat rippling through the battlefield, their weapons grinding against each other as flames roared to life around them. Sparks exploded between them, embers scattering like fireflies as the battle ignited.
Steel clashed against fire, each strike sending shockwaves through the ruined battlefield. (C/N) Cookie fought with everything they had, their strikes fueled by fury, heartbreak, and an aching loss too deep to name.
"You were everything to me!" they shouted, dodging a fiery strike and countering with a desperate swing. "And you threw it all away—for what? A moment of entertainment?"
Burning Spice Cookie dodged, their laughter a low, cruel melody. "Oh, sweet thing, you misunderstand. It wasn't just for amusement." They leaned in close, their voice a sultry whisper. "It was for you."
Rage surged through (C/N) Cookie's veins as they launched another attack, this time fueled by unrelenting sorrow. Their blade met Burning Spice's flames, the impact sending them both skidding back. Their breaths came heavy, their bodies bruised and burned, but neither yielded.
Burning Spice Cookie's smirk wavered for a moment, just a flicker of something—nostalgia, regret, something lost in the fire of who they had become. But it was gone just as quickly, replaced by that knowing, hungry smile.
The worst part wasn't just the destruction—it was knowing why. Knowing that Burning Spice Cookie had done all of this not out of some righteous cause, not even out of desperation, but out of boredom. As if the world and all its people had been nothing more than pieces on a game board, something to be rearranged and set ablaze just to break the monotony.
And in the end, it had all been for them. Every ruin, every scream, every pile of ash—it had all been a love letter scrawled in fire.
