Chapter 25 : The real enemy back

Start from the beginning

Inside the dorm, Riku finally settled into a fragile state of sleep, his body weak but no longer thrashing with fever. Kou kept a close watch on him, still applying the cool compress, hoping it would bring his temperature down.

It felt like the longest day of Iori's life. And yet, despite all the chaos, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to go wrong. Something was off. But for Riku's sake, Iori had to trust that everything would be okay. They couldn't fall apart now.

Back at the venue, the seconds felt like hours. Tenn was poised, waiting for the signal. He adjusted his earpiece again and glanced around; the familiar tension in his shoulders never eased.

"I have eyes on the target," Nori's voice came through the earpiece, clear and calm.

Tenn's heart skipped a beat. "Now."

In that instant, the trap was sprung.

At the dorm, Iori had a moment of relief, a brief flicker of hope as he felt Riku's temperature beginning to dip slightly. But just as quickly, the door burst open, and Kou's voice filled the room.

"Iori-chan, it's happening. The trap's set."

Iori gave a single nod. "We'll need to stay focused. I'm not leaving Nanase-san's side."

He turned his attention back to Riku, watching the slow but steady rise and fall of the boy's chest, praying for his recovery. Everything would be fine — as long as they caught the culprit and stopped the danger.

Tenn is completely wearing like Riku. He just pretends he walks around to get the enemy in a trap.Nori is only watching from afar but is already prepared for everything if anything happens. All the other agents are doing their best to watch Tenn's around.

"Sir, I saw a man watching Kujou-san from the south; the south team was already in their position, said the other agent.

"Make sure to be aware.Protect Tenn no matter what!" Nori said. They nodded and kept watching Tenn.

Tenn was still aware of his surroundings and got the information from Nori about a man from the south watching him. Tenn is feeling nervous, but he needs to stay calm and always think about Riku.At the same time, no one saw a man with the gun pointing at Tenn from afar, and the man who kidnapped Riku slowly made his step to meet Tenn.

"Hello, Kujou Tenn, I think you still remember me... right?" said the man who came with nothing. Nori saw that man and waited for the signal from Tenn. That man finally showed his real face. Tenn kept his expression calm, though his heartbeat quickened. He recognized the man immediately—the same one who had taken Riku before. His grip tightened at his sides, but he forced himself to remain composed.

"What do you want?" Tenn asked, his voice steady despite the tension in his body. He knew he had to buy time for the others to act.

The man smirked. "What do I want? Isn't it obvious?" He took a slow step forward, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "I want you and your little brother to suffer."

Nori listened through the earpiece, gripping his communicator tightly. "Stay alert, Tenn. We're waiting for your signal."

Tenn clenched his jaw. "You already tried that with Riku. Haven't you done enough?" His voice was sharp, laced with barely contained anger.

The man chuckled darkly. "Oh no, Kujou Tenn. This is far from over." He tilted his head. "But I must say, you almost had me fooled. Wearing Riku's clothes... trying to trick me into thinking he's out walking alone? How pathetic."

Tenn froze for a split second. He knows?!

Before Tenn could react, the man snapped his fingers. In an instant, a gunshot rang out.
