Heeseung stood in front of the mirror in Sunoo’s apartment, a radiant smile on his face as he adjusted his white blouse. His light blue jeans fit him perfectly, accentuating his figure, and the little touch of makeup Sunoo had done for him gave him an extra glow. His cute perms fell effortlessly around his face, making him look even more stunning. Sunoo watched him with a grin, sitting on the bed, legs crossed as he admired his best friend’s happiness.

“You’re glowing, Hee,” Sunoo teased, propping his chin up with his palm. “Jay is gonna lose his mind when he sees you.”

Heeseung blushed, smoothing out his blouse as he giggled. “I’m just really excited, Sunoo. Things with Jay have been so perfect, I feel like I’m living in a dream.”

“And to think this all started with you being so dramatic and plotting revenge,” Sunoo joked, making Heeseung roll his eyes.

“Okay, okay, we don’t need to bring that up,” Heeseung laughed. “That was a dark era.”

Sunoo smirked. “Still, I’m really happy for you, Hee. You deserve this.”

Before Heeseung could respond, a familiar knock echoed through the apartment. Heeseung’s heart skipped a beat. Sunoo shot him a knowing look before hopping off the bed and opening the door. There stood Jay, looking effortlessly handsome in a sleek black blouse, black jeans, and a belt that cinched at his waist perfectly. His hair was slicked back, and a pair of stylish sunglasses rested on his nose. He looked like a model straight out of a fashion magazine.

“Wow,” Jay breathed out as soon as he laid eyes on Heeseung. “You look… stunning.”

Heeseung’s cheeks heated up as he bit his lip, shyly looking away. “You don’t look too bad yourself.”

Jay chuckled, stepping forward to press a soft kiss on Heeseung’s forehead. “Shall we?”

Heeseung nodded eagerly, waving goodbye to Sunoo before taking Jay’s hand and following him out. The drive to their date location was filled with lighthearted conversation, laughter, and Jay occasionally glancing over at Heeseung like he was the most precious thing in the world.

When they arrived, Heeseung gasped in awe. Jay had taken him to a secluded part of the beach, where a breathtaking picnic setup awaited. The soft golden sand was covered with a beautiful blanket, a basket filled with Heeseung’s favorite treats sitting at the center. Fairy lights twinkled around them, and an arrangement of fresh flowers adorned the setting. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, romantic glow over the entire scene.

“Jay…” Heeseung whispered, turning to his boyfriend with wide eyes. “This is beautiful.”

Jay smiled, intertwining their fingers. “Only the best for you.”

They sat down, enjoying the gentle sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Jay fed Heeseung strawberries, their laughter filling the space between them. They talked about everything and nothing, reminiscing about their journey—the ups, the downs, the healing, and the love that had blossomed between them.

As the sky darkened, Jay suddenly stood up, taking a deep breath. Heeseung tilted his head, confused. “Jay?”

Jay turned to face him, his heart pounding. Slowly, he dropped to one knee, pulling out a small velvet box from his pocket. The moment Heeseung saw it, his hands flew to his mouth, eyes instantly welling up with tears.

“Heeseung,” Jay began, voice steady but filled with emotion. “I have loved you through every moment—the good, the bad, the messy, and the beautiful. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you make me.”

Tears slipped down Heeseung’s cheeks as he nodded rapidly, his heart swelling with overwhelming love. Jay opened the box, revealing a gorgeous ring.

“Lee Heeseung, will you marry me?”

Heeseung let out a choked laugh, falling to his knees in front of Jay as he threw his arms around him. “Yes, yes, a million times yes!”

Jay laughed, wrapping his arms around Heeseung tightly before pulling back to slide the ring onto his finger. It fit perfectly.

Heeseung admired the ring, sniffling as he wiped his tears. “It’s beautiful.”

“Just like you,” Jay whispered before pressing their lips together in a deep, passionate kiss. The waves crashed around them, the stars twinkling above, and in that moment, everything was perfect.

They had each other. And that was all they ever needed.
