Y/n often kept to yourself, keeping you and your nymphs safe in the forest, any trespassers would regret ever stepping foot in your palace. It wasn't hard for you to remove any pests, that was until Hermes decided to get in the way, giving moly to multiple travelers, you often still defeated the men, but Hermes's annoying habit began to increase the difficulty of your pest control.

Hermes and Y/n had a past, Ex-lovers. It first started with them being friends, they dated, and then Hermes unintentionally broke your heart. Y/n grew spiteful of Hermes's presence. But this was a bug you couldn't squash. You hadn't understood why he wouldn't leave you alone. He wasn't allowing you to grieve his betrayal. Up in the Olympians, it was casual for divine beings to be unfaithful within their relationships, it was rare for a god to stay loyal to their lover, and Hermes hasn't realized Y/n wasn't aware of the unsaid rule that sleeping around was normal, at least it was normal for him. After their relationship, Y/n saw infidelity in relationships more often and you despised it.

As normal, Hermes provided Moly for a challenger, but this time, Y/n had let the man go. You were intrigued by Odysseus's faithfulness. You admired it, letting him and his men free. Hermes had very low hopes that Odysseus would survive the interaction with Y/n, so when he stalked down Odysseus fleet, he noticed the man alive. He was definitely intrigued. What had caused Y/n to let him leave?

Hermes quickly scurried over to Y/n's palace, flying to your garden, seeing you picking herbs. Landing abruptly, Y/n's mood instantly soured.

Y/n scowled seeing him, turning to face him, glaring at him. You asked what he needed. Hermes laughed nervously before cutting to the chase.

"Why'd you let Odysseus leave freely?" He asked, nosy as ever.

You sigh and say "because he's faithful, something you weren't"

Hermes followed close behind, his annoyance rising with your comment.

"Again with that?" He sighed, he had heard that many times. He knew you was still bitter about the break up. "I didn't know-" He stopped before he spoke further. He couldn't have this argument again, this wasn't his purpose for showing up at your palace.

"You could've just killed him just like any other man that steps foot in your palace." He pointed out. "There should be more people like that in the world!" you argue back. Hermes crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes at you. He didn't understand why you were so pressed at the idea of loyalty.

"You're wasting time by praising a man's faithfulness! Besides, most men aren't like that. They're not loyal. "

Hermes stopped in his tracks, realizing this was going down the wrong path.

"Stop worrying about stupid men and their pathetic love." He muttered.

"Oh I'm sorry! I care to be loved without worrying that they might be cheating!" you yell back.

Hermes raised his hand, getting irritated with your constant nagging.

"You don't understand! It's normal for gods to sleep around! It's not a big deal!"

He argued. "It is to me!" you say. Hermes rolled his eyes, clearly getting annoyed with your annoyance.

"You never understood that it was normal for a god to sleep with others! That mortals do it as well!"

He retorted. Hermes couldn't believe you was still hung on the fact that he cheated. You hold your breath not wanting to argue with him anymore "Got it" you simply say. Hermes let out an exasperated sigh.
