Bell stared at the glowing screen before him, his eyes widening in disbelief.

[You have been assigned to the "Necromancer" class.]

"What?" His voice barely registered over the lingering echoes of battle.

His mind raced as he scanned through his stats. Thanks to his high Intelligence, he had amassed over 1,000 MP. If he accepted this class... he'd be able to summon the dead? That was both terrifying and thrilling at the same time.

He frowned, reading over the details again. The "Summoner" class wouldn't grow stronger over time, meaning his current stats would eventually become meaningless. If that was the case...

A notification interrupted his thoughts.

[Accept this job assignment?]
[Accept] [Decline]

Bell hesitated, then exhaled sharply. "Better safe than sorry," he muttered, selecting decline. He had assumed rejecting the job would leave him as he was.

But the system had other plans.

[Necromancer is a "Hidden Class." Do you still wish to decline?]

His head snapped up. "Wait... a hidden class?"

Before he could make a decision, the system acted on its own.

[Your job has been decided.]

A cascade of new messages appeared in rapid succession.

[You are qualified for a high-rank job due to the number of promotion points acquired.]
[You have exceeded the estimated playtime.]
[You have been awarded additional points.]
[The Instant Teleportation Stone was not used. You have been awarded additional points.]
[Your remaining health is above 50%. You have been awarded additional points.]
[You have defeated all enemies. You have been awarded additional points.]
[Your total number of promotion points has exceeded the limit.]

Bell barely had time to process the words before a shadowy force erupted around him. The darkness curled like living tendrils, enveloping his entire body. It was cold—bone-deep and suffocating—but there was something else within it. Power.

[You have been promoted from "Necromancer" to "Monarch of Shadows."]
[You have learned new job-specific skills.]
[You have obtained bonus stats.]
[You have gained the title: "Conqueror of Adversity."]

Then came the sound—low at first, then rising into a chorus of agonized wails. It was as if something, or someone, was clawing at the edges of existence, desperate to be heard.

Bell turned. The fallen knights, their lifeless bodies strewn across the battlefield, had begun to tremble. A thick, black fog oozed from their hollow shells, writhing like living shadows.

[Shadow Extraction may be used on this target.]

[Shadow Extraction may be used on this target.]

A final message appeared.

[Please specify a designated command for the Shadow Extraction skill.]

"A command...?" Bell murmured. He racked his brain for the right words, something fitting for the power he had just inherited.

Then, it came to him. A single word that sent a thrill down his spine.

"ARISE."

The moment the word left his lips, the battlefield shifted. The black fog surged, swallowing the knights and mages whole. Then, one by one, they rose—not as soldiers, but as beings of pure darkness, their forms wreathed in shadows.
