It felt perfect.
They didn't seem like strangers to her.
She had encountered a lot of guests around, but never felt this connected to any of them like the way she did to them.
And for some reasons, she liked being there.
---
"And that lady?" Abhira asked suddenly, and a heavy silence followed.
She almost regretted asking it, after getting no response for a long time.
And just when she was about to apologize, Naksh injected, "No need to feel sorry, beta. The silence to your question isn't your fault. Its circumstances."
Saying so, he nodded at Pallavi to narrate the turn of events.
"Two months ago, I and Prithvi were out to meet our lawyer in a case related to the company – RK.
He was a good lawyer, and asked to meet him at his place due to some unavoidable circumstances.
We agreed and as we reached there, he greeted us.
We proceeded with the legal matters and concluded the meeting.
When we were about to leave, I saw her.
At first, I thought I was hallucinating. But when RK turned to her and handed her a glass of water, I knew it was for real.
It felt surreal to stand there and see you presumed dead beloved sister, in front of you all alive.
I was running high on emotions. But Prithvi took up the situation and handled it calmly.
We talked to RK about her and he revealed that he met the lady some three years ago at random Aashram.
She wasn't well and terrified, so he took her in. Since then he was trying to relocate her family or known ones.
He was getting her treated there only but her health wasn't improving.
He moved abroad on the suggestion of some doctors for her better treatment and that now she was undergoing her medical treatment.
When I informed the family about it, they too were shocked to the core hearing it. But somehow we managed to sail through it.
To confirm our suspicions, we conducted a DNA test and the result said that she was our Shanu di only.
I was on cloud nine that day. I wanted to inform you about it right away, Nishi; but the situation called for a face to face revelation.
I wanted to be around you to handle you while I tell you all this. Though it didn't turned out as I had expected, but I am glad that you know about it now.
RK is really a very good hearted man. He let us take our Shanu di back to our house after knowing the truth and seeing the DNA reports.
We are forever indebted to him for his kindness and we had assured him that he came and meet di whenever he like to.
It was the least we could have ever done to repay his kind debt on us." she sobbed.
Though, we had our Shanu di back; she remembered none of us.
None of the family members, none of our moments, none of our past.
Nothing.
