" you love when daddy is away and you can sleep on his side of the bed, don't you sweet girl? " Taylor cooed, pressing a delicate kiss to Phoebe's cheek. It was 5am and Phoebe had gone the whole night in her bassinet – which she had very nearly grown out of so they would most likely need to upgrade her to a crib that attached to the bed soon enough. But now with it being the start of august, Travis was well and truly into training camp, leaving Taylor alone with Phoebe. At first, he'd been against it, she was still so young and he didn't want to miss out on anything, but with some arrangements with Coach Reid, he was still allowed his phone to check up on Taylor everyday and so that she could be constantly sending him pictures of Phoebe. With him being away though, often Taylor found that around 4-5am, she was being Phoebe into bed with her, where the little baby would take his side of the mattress, she knew she couldn't make a habit of it, but Phoebe loved it.

Travis Aw my princess!! Miss you guys💕💕
Today though, Taylor was a little worried, it was Phoebe's 8 week appointment which meant she was going to be getting some shots. It wouldn't be so bad if she had Travis with her, but she felt out of her depth going alone, not only did she hate seeing her baby upset, she also had to deal with a grumpy baby for a few days too. But it had to be done. Taylor and Phoebe fell back to sleep for a few more hours before the baby woke up wanting feeding again, by that time it was around 8am and their appointment was at 10am so really they needed to get moving. She fed Phoebe until she unlatched and then she burped her before Taylor placed her in her bouncer with her paci so she could shower. It was just a brisk shower, just to refresh herself as she didn't need to wash her hair or anything.
" so bubs, you're going to be a brave little girl for mommy later, hm? " Taylor spoke softly to Phoebe, who just stared at her with her big green eyes. " mommy's going to try and be brave too, she hates seeing you upset " she carried on, having a conversation as if Phoebe was going to respond anytime soon. She, however, only gurgled in response, and Taylor chuckled. Recently, she'd become a little more expressive, maybe sounds from her mouth or little gurgling noises. Babies didn't really start coping properly till around 2-3 months old and technically Phoebe was just around 2 months, so it was no surprise.
Navigating parenthood by yourself, Taylor had found to be slightly challenging, if Travis was here, he'd be able to entertain Phoebe whilst she showered and got ready, but now she was having to find ways to get round daily tasks with only one set of hands. She commended single parents who had to do it alone, it wasn't easy and she was experiencing that first hand. Once she was ready, she got Phoebe ready too, just into a plain romper. It was still really hot in Kansas city and so they both needed something light weight and airy. When they were both ready, Taylor got Phoebe strapped in her car seat with a little headband on her head. She drove herself to the doctors office, luckily paparazzi weren't as invasive as they were in New York or LA, she felt safe doing so. They had some time before their appointment, so Taylor took the opportunity to nurse Phoebe in the car, just so she wasn't fussing during the check up.
