"What on earth do you mean? You're more than welcome!" Engineer said as Pyro nodded.
I was way too nervous. "Yeah, sure you two want me there, but the others might not."
Engineer blinked a few times as his face straightened as he seemed confused. "Well. Why does everyone else matter?" He placed his hand on Pyros shoulder. "Me and Pyro would appreciate you being there Y/n." Pyro seemed to nod along to this as well.
Their efforts to convince me were worthless, me and my growing paranoia had decided. "No guys, really it's fine." I just didn't want to put myself in a setting I knew I'd be uncomfortable with at this current time. I turned my back to walk away.
Suddenly I felt two arms lifting me up from behind. Pyro had picked me up as Engineer walked backwards, facing me; pacing himself towards the living room, he spoke before he faced away. "You're joinin' " His back turned as he continued to speak. "It'll be a perfect opportunity to get acquainted with everyone."
The more I tried to resist, the tighter the grip Pyro had on me became. The anxiety I had felt worsened as all three of us eventually made it to the room.
Pyro sat me down and sat himself beside me as Engineer took a corner seat of the sofa, every man in the rooms eyes were now on me.
I sat there nervously glancing around, I don't know what to do so I awkwardly waved to everyone. "Hello"
Soldiers finger instantly pointed towards me. "It's the alien woman!"
Medic corrected him. "She's not an alien just a human voman from another world." He sipped his cider.
Soldier rushed over to me, forcing his hand in mine and shaking it with such might! 'Human being' if that's what you really are..." he was now unnecessarily skeptical until Heavy ushered him back to his seat, making the soldier sit back down.
Spy stood up, a glass of wine in his hand as his eyes remained glued to me. "She wasn't in battle. Why is she here?" His tone made it clear that he didn't want me here.
I knew I was right not to come in here, I just wanted to go back to my room and rot and not deal with this nerve-wracking atmosphere.
"Now now!" Engineer's hand placed upon my back carefully. "This is Y/n." Engineer began. "And as long as she's here I expect her to be treated as if she belongs here." He seemed to be looking around the room at all the mercs.
All the mercs seemed to silently obey Engineers commands, apart from Spy who stood from his seat. (Swishing his wine in his glass.) "If anybody needs me I'll be in my smoking room." With that he left.
The guilt raised in me that Spy so obviously left because I was there. I really wonder what I did to him to make him dislike me...
Engineers hand was still placed on my back as he began to pat it comfortingly. "Ignore him. He's just not great with new people." His hand left my back as he pranced over to a case of cider, cracking the tab of the can open and passing me a drink. "You're more than welcome. Here darlin"
I took the drink in my hands. "Thanks."
Demo seemed to be looking at me now, slurring his words as he spoke. "Nice ta' meetcha new lady!"
