Touch of Power (Alythian Legacy #1)

~Hello all~

I know I gave a little thank you note at the end of Chapter Sixty because that was the actual end of this beautiful little project but I just wanted to pop in and say a last final little piece before I mark this completed.

Touch of Power came to me on a whim. I was writing for The Art of Pretending at the time a few years ago and I just had the urge to write about people with powers. The first scene I ever wrote for this novel was actually for Chapter Forty Six: Indulging a Reckless Fantasy where Freya and Kit kiss for the first time if you can believe it or not.

This whole project bloomed solely because of the lines: "I can adapt. We can adapt." I felt Freya's pain, I felt Kit's desperation, and I needed to explore how these two fell in love.

And I hope I fully explored how Kit and Freya fall in love (even though Freya never actually tells Kit she loves him... she does btw) and the nuances of their relationship. They're just two very lonely people that had to guard themselves to protect themselves but together they both can let their walls come down for once to one another and I just find that beautiful. They crave the same things and for once they can admit that they do indeed want the things they do.

This is going to sound weird but I've been with these characters for some time so I want to thank them for a second.

To Freya - You are the one I put all my insecurities in (sorry about that) and hopefully it's not annoying to others because of it. But all the feelings of feeling alone or being left behind... it all stems from a real place. I love that you never stop fighting, even when faced with impossible obstacles and I can learn a thing or two from you despite you stemming from my imagination. Thank you Freya Ellis for being the protagonist, for being this not-so-perfect heroine but still fights to see a brighter future.

To Kit - Every day I hope to find someone as open and honest as you are. You are a flawed man but you always want to grow despite not really knowing how to sometimes (I think I really relate to that as well). I absolutely loved writing you, my prince, and I can't wait to explore how you react being king and trying to navigate this new role for yourself.

Again, I want to reiterate that this project kind of stemmed from a little idea: about a girl who can steal away powers and about a boy with dangerous powers. Little by little, I chipped away the full story about these two individuals and I hope you found moments that were exciting, romantic, heartwarming, and all these different types of good feelings.

So thank you to all who has stumbled their way onto this project and for actually reading Touch of Power, there is more in store for these characters so please follow me for more updates on that or any other projects that may come.
