you were in the library with mattheo, packing up your things after finishing your homework together. the room was quiet except for the occasional flipping of pages and the soft scratching of quills against parchment. as you reached up to return a book to the shelf above you, you noticed a girl standing behind mattheo, trying to get through, but he was too caught up in conversation with you to notice.
without thinking, you reached out, grabbing his tie softly and pulling him closer to you to clear the way. mattheo's body pressed against yours slightly, his hands instinctively landing on your waist as his eyes widened in surprise.
"thank you." the girl said with a polite smile before slipping past.
you smiled back before turning your attention to mattheo, who was now smirking at you in that signature way of his.
"okay, don't get too cocky now." you warned, pushing him away lightly, but instead of stepping back, he only moved closer.
"never." he murmured, tilting his head slightly. "but that was hot."
you let out a soft chuckle, shaking your head. "okay, enough." you whispered, your voice holding more amusement than actual protest.
mattheo's smirk didn't waver. instead, he lifted an eyebrow, eyes searching yours. "you sure you don't like me?" he asked, voice low and teasing. "because you always deny it."
you hesitated for a split second before smirking back at him, twirling his tie around your finger. "well, maybe i do."
mattheo's smirk deepened, his fingers tightening slightly on your waist. "good." he whispered, leaning in, his lips dangerously close to yours. "feelings are mutual."
before anything else could happen, blaise's voice suddenly broke through the quiet library.
"hey guys!"
mattheo groaned, his head falling back as he turned to glare at his friend.
"oh shit, shit." blaise muttered, realizing the tension he had just interrupted. he looked around frantically as if searching for an escape route.
mattheo clenched his jaw. "i'm gonna fucking kill you."
before blaise could react, mattheo lunged after him, and the library filled with the sound of blaise's high-pitched scream as he darted between bookshelves.
you covered your mouth, trying to hold back your laughter, but it was no use. you shook your head, watching the chaos unfold.
