“WAIT.”
Cassie takes off her belt, the one that carried her machete. She walks over to Mooney and ties it around her before reaching back and grabbing her handgun, tucking it into Mooney's pants. She covers the gun with Mooney's oversized T-shirts. Cassie figures they'll probably take their weapons and even if she feels like this can be their home, she's gonna be cautious like Rick wants. She walks over to Benny and takes Judith from him before walking to the front of the group, next to Rick. She wants these people to see her as just a pregnant woman with a baby, not as the psychotic murderer she really is. The gates slide open and Aaron leads them in, he didn't notice what Cassie was doing.
"That's smart." Rick whispers to her as they walk into Alexandria. Benny, Faith, and Mooney walk closely behind their mother.
"They'll ask for your weapons, only give them the big one— only the ones they can see." She whispered to them, they nodded their heads. Two men come up to Aaron and Eric, one helps Eric walk away as the other stares at them.
"Before we take this any further, I need you all to turn over your weapons." The man told them, Cassie called it.
"If we were to use them, you'd be dead already." Rick says, the man takes a step back.
"It's okay, Nicholas. Let them talk to Deanna first." Aaron said.
"Who's Deanna?" Cassie asked him.
"She runs this place. She'll answer all your questions." Aaron told her.
"Maybe you should start, Cass." He says, Cassie sighs and nods.
"Don't call me Cass." She tells him as they follow him. She hears a walker coming and stops, Cassie turns around and sees one outside the gates. It was pretty far away but she wasn't going to take that chance.
"Daniel." She calls out, nodding towards the walker. He turns around and shoots it with ease before turning back around. Nicholas states in shock as they walk past him, Aaron leads them into a house.
"This is Deanna's house, it's always open. Everyone is welcomed at all times. Cassie, follow me." Aaron told them, Cassie follows him upstairs and into an office.
"She'll be here in a minute." He says as he leaves her there alone with Judith. Cassie walks around the office, looking at everything. They were pictures, awards, and three big bookshelves full of books. Judith reaches forward towards a little dolphin figurine, Cassie picks it up and shows it to her. Judith smiles brightly, happy to be back in the arms of her favorite person.
