Grian was on the run, he had graduated High School while learning how to be an admin on the side, because he knew that was the only reason he could escape Sam.

The blonde took a deep breath before stepping onto his new server, Evolution SMP, it was his first server, so he had gone all out with the admin-magic. He had burned the blue shirt Sam had forced him to wear and instead settled for a green shirt, his dirty-blonde hair had been dyed to a bright yellow and his true eye color was covered by lapis-blue contacts. He was different than the Grian Sam had known, the only thing the same was his name, so he chose to go by his middle name, Xelqua.

Nothing about the Evolutionist could be drawn back to the abused high school student from Japan, it was perfect.

Xelqua soon got to meet his players, they were all roughly his age, a few of them knowing each other but quick to welcome their admin into their chaotic group. It took some time for the blonde to fit in, still flinching at every move, but shrugging it off as nothing when asked, nobody could know about his past, not just because he didn't want to talk about it, but for their own good. It would be dangerous for them to know the real him seeing as he once was a part of the mafia in Japan, even killing people for them in fear of losing his own life. Saying Grian was traumatized was an understatement.

The blonde, once the flinching and the nightmares had subsided, began to love them as his family, he wouldn't hesitate to prank them but in the matter of life and death he would always put them first.

Xelqua's breath hitched as he saw the sign. "WE ARE WATCHING", he had heard of the dangerous beings calling themselves the Watchers, and a gut-feeling told him that was who he was dealing with, he tried to shield the server but it was too late and the code was messed up. All he could do was wait until something happened, and he hated it.

It wasn't even bad at first, the Watchers seemed curious, and left puzzles, gifts and adventures for the players, if one kept the rules. Xelqua was rebellious, and took more than he should and didn't follow the Watcher's command. He knew it would anger the higher beings, but he knew it would keep the attention off his players, his family, so he kept doing it, embracing the risk.

It was a day like any other, the players were gathered at spawn after command from the Watchers. A Watcher appeared and the scared players all took a step back, before all they were was the myths and the ones placing towers and puzzles for them, this was a real being they could touch and feel if they dared. A tall figure with obsidian black skin and white hair, their wings having all sorts of colors, resembling a galaxy, but the terrifying part was the eyes, they were everywhere, on their skin, their wings, even their halos couldn't escape them, and they all had an eerie pink glow. A pointed claw-like finger was pointed towards Xelqua. "Come with us" it said, and the blonde swallowed, but took a step forward towards the Watcher, careful not to let any emotions show.

A hand grabbed his arm. "Xel, don't do this, please" Pearl said with tears glistening in her eyes, they were basically siblings, but her begging couldn't stop Xelqua. "You know I have to, otherwise they might hurt you" he replied, a soft smile forming on his lips. "Take care of Timmy for me please"

The last steps towards the Watcher felt as if they were a mile. The Watcher handed him a mask, which he reluctantly placed to cover his eyes. Magic coursed through him, making him shiver, then scream as two pairs of wings spread from his back. He looked down at himself and saw his skin had turned black, a few tears ran down his cheeks as he entered the newly made portal behind the other Watcher, sad to be leaving his family behind.

Grian was on the run, it felt as if life was repeating itself, but this time, instead of creating his own, he would join one, he didn't want to deal with another disaster as the one he had called Evo. He knew the Watchers had destroyed the server, but he had watched as Martyn and Timmy had been turned to Listeners, the only thing that saved the players, now they were sprawled across different servers and Grian couldn't be happier, he knew he should try and find them, but he didn't. He didn't want to see the family he had failed. He told himself it was for the best.

The blonde joined the new server, and was met with a loving community, it reminded him of Evo, but just bigger, and it didn't travel in time. The admin was called Xisuma, and within a few days Grian had made a few friends. He had chosen to go by Grian again, YHS had been a long time ago and everyone involved had hopefully moved on, and during the time spent with the Watchers, his hair had faded back to its natural dirty-blonde color, and he wanted to match his original hair with his signature piece of clothing, a red jumper.

All in all, Grian was happy to finally experience a normal life... that was until he realized the whole server had begun worshipping Xelqua, the deity of freedom. Him. His new server worshipped him.

Grian tried his best to not let the prayers bother him, even though they fueled his Watcher power and a following itch to open his Watcher-eyes to see who was praying, as time went on Grian grew frustrated, but then he began to gain control of the urges, and by the end of season 6, the prayers didn't bother him at all. Season 7 came along, and he decided to let his wings out permanently, the longer he went without letting them out, the more his back hurt, that's why he had created his alternate identity - poultry man - in the previous season. A few hermits asked about the wings and in a hasty lie the builder replied he had always been an avian, but was too scared of peoples judgement in season 6 to let them out, the general reply was that the server was happy he felt safe enough to let them show, and that they loved the colorfulness of them, and Grian had to agree, his wings had adapted to the jungle and were red, yellow and blue - the wings resembling those of a parrot.

A few close calls with Xelqua was to expect, but the prayers had tripled and a few hermits had even started leaving diamonds and other valuables as an offering for their God, and while Grian was happy and thankful for the diamonds - no wonder he became the richest hermit on the server.

Somehow the whole season passed without him messing up, then came season 8, and with that a few new players. Especially one Grian immediately recognized. Pearl.

Their eyes locked and it was as if the whole world was still, the only thing in existence was them, Grian was so happy to see her again, but her sudden appearance brought a problem. He never got the chance to warn her about his name, she ran to him as quickly as her feet could take her and flung her arms around his neck. "OH MY GOD! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH XEL! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!" She yelled, and the two who had already gathered a few hermits' attention was now the center of everyone's attention, as the hermits around him froze.

The admin was the first to break the silence. "What did you just call him?"

Pearl looked around her with confusion while Grian grew tense at the inevitable reveal about to unfold in front of him. "I called him Xel, you know, short for Xelqua?"

A silence so loud was present among the hermits and Pearl looked confused at her brother for answers. "They worship Xelqua, the deity of freedom and Watcher of the overworld, me" He clarifies and Pearl snorts. "YOU, being worshipped, that's new"

"I'm glad to have you back sis" he laughs and pull her close for yet another hug, "By the way, my name is Grian, Xelqua is my middle name, I used it on Evo for reason I can't explain right now"

"Oh, okay Griba" She replied and Grian corrects her. "Grian"

"Too late brother" She smirks with a mischievous shine in her eyes, the blonde exaggerates a sigh, but smiles, as he's happy to finally have part of his family back, the duo leaves as they have a lot of catching up to do, leaving behind the dumbfounded hermits.

"WE'VE BEEN PRAYING TO GRIAN!? THE CHAOS PRANKSTER!?"
"NO WONDER HE GOT SO RICH IN LAST SEASON! THAT WAS MY DIAMONDS!"
"WE'VE BEEN FEEDING INTO HIS CHAOS!"
