Ellie Foster saw life as an adventure.
An adventure that she would enjoy, muster through and find courage in. After all, weren't all things made to have fun and to find courage? Ellie thought so. Her twin brothers, Con and Ash, had waved dismissively at Ellie, at the saying of life being an adventure. All they thought about it was misery, homework and unnecessary lectures from teachers. Which was not at the least crazy; it was just the way Ellie's brothers were, and she accepted that.
But Ellie knew, deep down, that she accepted life as an adventure.
Of course, she hadn't always thought so.
When she had been younger, around ages five to ten, Ellie had dreaded moving on. Moving on, meant that she had to change her social network. Moving on, meant trying to sound 'grown-up' and putting on 'posh' accents in front of her brothers' friends. Moving on, meaning she had to leave everything from the past and never turn back. The phrase "moving on" brought her very distinctive past-nightmares into set. And Ellie, like her parents, had the fortune of a photographic memory.
How fun. She had thought upon first knowing. This will be great.
Now, Ellie was twelve, and going to Foxfire. Today was her first day, and she wanted to make sure everything was pitch-perfect.
Though it was only 5:30am, Ellie was packing and unpacking her schoolbag. She wanted to make sure that she had everything: stationary bag packed, snacks packed...And the occasional prank to pull off with her friends.
Over the years that Ellie had known her friends, many of her mother's friend's kids were amongst them. Axil and Autumn Vacker were twins, and starting in the same grade as her this year - and, as the troublesome twins of Ellie's Aunt Biana Vacker and Tam Song's, both Vackers also happened to be one of Ellie's most trusted friends...And helping hands in pranking everyone. Of course, Ellie's other BFF - Leyla - sometimes got to tag along as well...Well, when she wasn't at home trying to manifest, of course.
Among most of the Vackers, Leyla was known to have not manifested yet. Which seemed to make sense, if not for the early-manifesting ages her siblings - Avery and Emmeline Vacker - that put rising pressure on Leyla.

It was a well-kept secret in the Sencen family of all of the the Sencen kids crush's. Connor was madly in love with Becca Dizznee - though was a sucker at asking Becca to go out with him, the most which he could manage was a stutter (but in Ellie's mind, she was sure that Con would get there, and Ellie suspected that Becca liked Con as well).
Ashton was already falling head-over-heels (which strangely, came from Ellie's father, Keefe, doing the same with Ellie's mother, Sophie) with his girlfriend -- a Level 4 student called Evangeline Medly.
Ellie and her family had been beyond surprised that it had actually been both lovers falling in love with on another - not just the girl, like many of Ash's ex-girlfriends. (He had a reputation of dumping girls that he didn't love.)
Her eldest brother, Leo, had already got his match-making lists and a fiance. Marina Lila Redek had been known to be one of the most beautiful and popular girls in the Elite Levels. She also was Marella's cousin's daughter. Ellie had been told by her mother that Leo was getting maried to Marina in September.
...And Ellie had a crush, that she wouldn't tell any of the boys in her family. Only her mother, Sophie Foster, knew. Yes, Ellie's crush was one of her most trusted BFFs, Axil Vacker...But, she knew that if one of the boys found out, her father would stop at nothing from trying to split Ellie and Axil apart. Tam and Keefe had rivalry history way back from before, that would probably more haunt them - if they ever found out that Ellie and Axil (or Ellaxil, as Autumn phrased it) were ever found out.
True to her word, when Ash had nearly found out that Ellie did have a crush, Ellie's father would now always try to push Ellie in the direction of Avery Vacker or Max Dizznee at Black Swan gatherings. Which, to be honest, was a hilarious sight for the rest of the Sencen family, because then Ellie would gravitate away from both Avery and Max...And start getting close to Axil, not that anyone noticed except for the girls, of course.
Of course, Ellie thought to herself, Every time my hand even clasps with Axil in a high-five, both Axil and I turn a crimson-shade of red...I think it means he likes me! But what if doesn't? What if ---
Ellie thoughts were cut short by a sudden POP!.
She swiveled around, only to find her older brother Connor at the doorway.
