(Lorenzo’s POV)
I watched as Shaniel froze, her face betraying the hurt I’d caused. But honestly? I couldn’t care less. I’d been through this before. Her pain didn’t change anything.
I wasn’t the type to explain myself or apologize. If she couldn’t handle the truth, then that was her problem. I didn’t owe her anything.
Vivienne, of course, was still by my side. She always was. We both knew what this was—a game of power, of control. I kissed her like it meant nothing, like it was routine. Shaniel was far behind, a distant memory.
She could have fought harder for me. She could have shown me something that mattered. But she didn’t.
I saw Shaniel turn and leave. I didn’t stop her. I didn’t even care enough to go after her. It was a choice she made, one I wasn’t going to change.
“Are you going after her?” Vivienne asked, her voice a soft whisper, almost as if testing me.
I glanced at her, my eyes colder than ever. “Why? Let her go. She was never mine to begin with.”
Vivienne smirked, clearly pleased. “You’re a real piece of work, you know that?”
I didn’t respond. I didn’t need to. My actions spoke for themselves.
Shaniel would figure it out sooner or later. People like her always did.
