After the explosive start to the tournament, the competitors are granted a short break before the next round. The fighters head to the designated lounge area, a large room filled with comfortable seating and refreshments. Some of them stretch and hydrate, others converse with teammates or observe the competition.

Miguel, feeling the adrenaline of his match, leans against the wall, letting the moment sink in. He feels the weight of his progress, but there's no time to rest on his laurels. He needs to stay sharp if he's going to keep proving himself.

Zara, her energy still radiating after her spectacular victory, saunters over to him with a mischievous grin.

"Impressive, Diaz," she says, nudging his shoulder with hers. "I'd say you're showing the world what it means to be an Iron Dragon."

Miguel chuckles, still buzzing from the win. "I'm just getting started," he replies, glancing around to see if any of the other fighters are watching him.

Zara follows his gaze and then shrugs nonchalantly, as if to say it doesn't matter who's watching. "Of course. You've got that 'I'm about to do something amazing' vibe about you."

"Something like this?" Miguel asks with a grin, as he demonstrates a quick, fluid move, making sure not to draw too much attention but showing off some of the technique Sensei Wolf has drilled into him.

Zara watches, her eyes glinting with approval. "You're not just learning to fight. You're learning to control the flow of the fight. I like it."

Miguel feels a little flush of pride at her words. It feels good knowing someone like Zara notices his improvement. "Thanks. You're not so bad yourself," he adds, his voice casual but sincere.

Zara smiles, clearly pleased by the compliment. She leans in closer, her voice dropping into a more teasing tone. "You think so? Maybe you just haven't seen everything yet."

Miguel's brow furrows slightly as he tries to figure out what she means, but Zara just laughs and pats him on the arm before turning to survey the others. "You've got a lot to prove, Diaz. But I'm rooting for you."

Miguel watches her walk off to join the other Iron Dragons, her confidence and flare filling the room. Something about her makes him feel a bit more at ease with the whole situation. As she prepares for her next match, he can't help but admire her presence and skill.

As the bell rings, signaling the next round of matches, Miguel steps up, ready to give his all. The path ahead won't be easy, but with each win, he feels more certain that this is the right choice for him. And maybe—just maybe—this whole new world will feel a little more like home.

The next round of matches picks up with intensity. Miguel and Zara both take center stage in their respective divisions, each one continuing to showcase the growth and development that they've achieved under the tutelage of Sensei Wolf.

Miguel's next match is against a formidable opponent from another dojo, someone who's known for their raw power and aggressive style. But this time, Miguel is prepared. His earlier match had already tested his striking and grappling ability, and now he knows how to stay balanced under pressure. His opponent comes at him with a series of hard strikes, trying to overwhelm him, but Miguel easily dodges and counters with his own strikes, keeping his cool.

As the fight progresses, Miguel goes for a quick transition, faking a punch to his opponent's head before moving into a swift leg sweep, knocking them off balance. The crowd gasps in surprise, clearly impressed by his fluidity and precision. Miguel doesn't let up, swiftly transitioning into a submission attempt. This time, he goes for an armbar, not stopping until he locks it in and forces his opponent to tap out.

The audience erupts in applause, and Miguel, breathing heavily but satisfied with his performance, stands tall. His eyes briefly meet Zara's across the room, and she gives him an appreciative nod. He can't help but smile in return, proud of his work.

Zara's next match is no less thrilling. She steps into the ring with a fellow fighter known for her incredible agility and fast footwork. Zara, ever the show-off, grins and blows a kiss to the audience, letting the crowd's energy fuel her confidence.

The match begins, and Zara wastes no time, using her flamboyant style to throw off her opponent. She twirls, dodges, and delivers kicks that are both stylish and effective. At one point, she backflips off the ropes and lands on her feet, earning a cheer from the crowd. Her opponent tries to retaliate, but Zara is quick to move, ducking under a high kick and delivering a devastating roundhouse that sends her opponent to the mat.

Before the referee even finishes counting, Zara stands triumphantly, a wide grin on her face. As she walks toward her corner, she winks at Miguel, who's watching her closely. Her playfulness and flair shine through in every moment, and it's clear she's not just here to fight—she's here to entertain and win.

Miyagi-Do:

Meanwhile, in the Miyagi-Do section, there's a noticeable tension in the air. After seeing Miguel's shocking transformation, the dojo members are processing the fact that he's no longer part of their team—and now fighting under the Iron Dragons banner.

Robby, who had once felt an unspoken rivalry with Miguel, shakes his head, his eyes narrowed. "That's not the Miguel we used to know," he mutters, his voice laced with disbelief. "He's changed."

Sam, sitting beside him, tries to put on a brave face but can't hide the shock in her eyes. She watches Miguel with a mixture of emotions—pride for his accomplishments, but also a pang of hurt. She had hoped they'd work things out, but seeing him in the Iron Dragons gi, performing at such a high level, only underscores the distance that has grown between them.

Demetri and Hawk are sitting a few rows away, whispering to each other as they observe the matches.

"I didn't expect this," Demetri says, adjusting his glasses. "I mean, sure, Miguel always had potential, but that's... next-level."

Hawk nods, crossing his arms. "Yeah, the dude's got some serious skills now. He's not the same kid who used to be all about honor and balance. Now he's ruthless."

"Can't blame him," Demetri adds. "He's doing what he needs to do for his future, right?"

"But it's weird," Hawk says, shaking his head. "I thought we were all supposed to be in this together. Now... now it's just like he's a whole different person. It's hard to watch."

They all pause for a moment, taking in the sight of Miguel's victory, processing what it means not just for him but for all of them.

In the midst of the discomfort, Devon, ever the pragmatic one, speaks up. "We're all here for different reasons. Miguel's doing what he has to do to get into Stanford, and yeah, it's tough to see him fighting for another dojo, but we can't fault him for wanting something better for himself."

Robby glances over at her. "You're right, but it doesn't make it easier to watch."

The rest of Miyagi-Do quietly absorbs the situation. They're supportive of each other, but there's a lingering sense of loss. They all know that Miguel's path is diverging, and they don't know what that means for their future as a dojo.

As they continue watching the tournament, it's clear that Miguel's journey has only just begun, and they're left to figure out their own place in the ever-changing world of karate.
