[BIRTHDATE] 1996, HYOGO, JAPAN

T—oday's marks the day, a special kid was born, a blessing to others in the future, a cursed for her parents.

You're surrounded by darkness.

A suffocating, oppressive darkness that felt almost supernatural. It was darker than Vantablack, if that was even possible. You were swallowed whole, lost in the nothingness.

Trapped? No, worse. Choked. Chained to your own self-consciousness in the vast void of darkness. Prayers were the only thing you could cling to, a desperate chant echoing in your mind.

Then, abruptly, the darkness vanished.

The transition from utter blackness to blinding light was jarring. Blurry shapes swirled before you, like pieces of a puzzle you couldn't quite grasp.

Silence. A heavy, suffocating silence that pressed down on you. Then, it shattered. A harsh, grating sound pierced through the stillness, a sound that threatened to tear your brain apart.

A baby wailing.

Your eyes finally adjusted, focusing on the figure staring down at you. They were looking at you like you were a newly discovered species, something strange and alien.

You couldn't understand their gaze. The baby's wail echoed in your head, a relentless assault. You wanted to scream, to make it stop.

A woman loomed over you, her face contorted in a scowl. She bit her lip, her eyes filled with a chilling emptiness.

“It took me nine months to bear this fucking child, and she looks like her goddamn father,” she spat, her words aimed directly at you.

Was she referring to you? Were you the "fucking child" she mentioned?

“How can you be so harsh? You just delivered this kid a few hours ago. You're already throwing tantrums,” a voice interject.

It clicked.

It all made sense now. The baby's whining, the way you couldn't speak your thoughts but ended up crying. You tried to extend your finger up to the woman, but all you saw were the tiny, helpless fingers of a baby.

“I don't care. I don't want to put up with that child. Throw her away, I don't care. I'm leaving,” she snarled, swatting your hand away.

She must be your biological mother. The way she talked about you, the emptiness in her eyes, the hatred and regret that a normal baby wouldn't understand...

but somehow, you did. And you fucking hated it.

APRIL XX 2003, HYOGO, JAPAN

Seven years passed.

You turned seven. Nothing peculiar happened, except for the fact that your mother abandoned you.

Yes, she abandoned you at the moment you can recognize how the world works, she left you, it is true she had breastfed you, taken care of you for a while, but you knew it was out of obligation, not love.

Being an infant was torture. You were fully aware of everything around you, almost understanding everything. You heard your mother's cruel words, saw the way she looked at you with disdain.

She refused to care for you, relying on her friend to help. Then, she left, abandoning you at the front door of an orphanage.

This was your life now. The orphanage owner, your mother's friend, treated you better, but it was still an obligation, a duty she felt compelled to fulfill.
