LATER THAT NIGHT
I stir awake to a pain in my abdomen.
My eyes only remain open for a split second before squeezing shut as another sharp cramp shoots through my abdomen. It feels like the cramps I would usually get during my period, but they are worse.
I suck in a sharp breath and release it when I feel it again.
I wait for the pain to pass before even attempting to turn my head and glance at the clock on the nightstand beside me.
3:31 A.M.
It's so early.
I sigh quietly as I lay my head again on the pillow. I adjust my body just enough to glimpse Leonardo over my shoulder. He's lying on his side as well, with his body pressed against mine. His hand is currently resting on the side of my outer upper thigh. He always puts his hand either there or on my stomach while he sleeps.
