Miku's POV

There she was again. A fleeting vision of black, greasy hair bounced towards her dim corner of the basement. Her stride was light and exuberant, barely touching the filthy floorboards. A rush of emotions surged inside Miku. Samantha came to visit her tonight again...Was it night? She couldn't tell anymore from night and morning in the never-ending darkness.

Miku's eyes squinted helplessly as she tried to keep focus on Samantha's figure in the dark. Miku's attempt to adapt to the ill-lit basement proved to be a source of amusement for Samantha as she gave another loose, playful tug on the chains connecting to Miku's collar. It was easy to forget a woman this gentle was the exact incarcerator behind her current predicament; especially when Samantha would sought her out so tenderly everyday, as if she was a wife greeting her beloved. That act alone made Miku's torment even worse, gnawing away at her soul in ways she couldn't describe.

Miku knew the truth, even if none of them could admit it. There was no real escape for neither– just this twisted, delicate dance of dependence and captivity, a dance they performed in constant silence, each trying to fool the other.

Samantha needed Miku like a drowning woman who needs air, but Miku had learned to see past the sweetness of those touch-starved hands, the desperation hidden behind every smile. It was an unspoken truth between them, one that hung heavy in the air with each visit: Miku was the anchor to Samantha's broken world, the one constant in the sea of chaos. The one being chained down. But Miku was the real one who held the invisible chains to Samantha's empty heart.

The irony wasn't lost to Miku. She almost laughed at it. Samantha had caged her physically, yes, but in doing so, she had unknowingly trapped herself as well. She was bound by her own need for Miku, her reliance on her to fill the empty voids of her ghastly soul. Samantha constantly clung to Miku with such desperate fervor, as if her existence depended on it. And maybe it did.

Miku couldn't help but wonder, though, if Samantha realized it. Was she the one really trapped in this corrupted, violating relationship, unable to escape the weight of her dependence? Would Samantha ever see the cage she built for herself? Or would Miku be forever bound to the role of savior– the one that held the keys to Samantha's salvation, but also to her destruction?
