Jerusalem, Year of 1177.
The hot sun shone down on the great and mighty palace of the kingdom of Jerusalem. In the royal garden, in a white gazebo whose roof was surrounded by vines with pretty little flowers; a young man in a white robe, white headdress, and silver mask-sat there. On a wooden chair while his arms rested on a round table in the center of the gazebo. In his hand was a piece of paper containing a letter from Saladin Al Ayoubi. His former enemy who has now, for some reason ... become quite a familiar pen pal to him.
Until shortly, a baritone voice called out to him.
“Your Highness, greetings.”said a tall, bulky man in what appeared to be a heavy suit of protective armor.
Baldwin turned his head, his masked ice-blue eyes staring at the man. The king then got up and walked slowly-the sores all over his body from leprosy made it difficult for him to move freely. He smiled, even through the mask, it was clear how his eyes narrowed. The tall man immediately knelt down to pay his respects to the king.
“Oh, please ... rise, my friend.” Baldwin said gently. “I have been expecting you, Josephus Of Argos.” he continued as he took hold of the man's arms and helped him to his feet.
“Your Highness, I am truly grateful for your generosity in accepting my little daughter to live in your hallowed palace.” Josephus said.
Josephus then turned to his daughter who was hiding behind his large frame. The little girl peeked at Baldwin’s kingly figure slightly from under her father's red robe shyly. Baldwin who witnessed this chuckled softly, he tilted his head so that he could see more clearly the figure of the little girl.
“Greetings, young lady ... may I know your name?” greeted Baldwin gently, his voice soothing.
But the girl was still hiding behind her father. Josephus who saw this became anxious, he then shifted his body and touched his daughter’s shoulder gently.
“Darling, come on ... you have to greet your king well, he is the one who will take care of you while I am on duty in Athena.” said Josephus who tried to persuade his daughter who was still very shy.
After a while, the girl finally wanted to walk closer to Baldwin. She was wearing a dress the same color as her eyes, pinkish. A jeweled headpiece was perched on the top of her head and forehead. Her hair was golden brown, very shiny and long.
The girl tugged at both ends of her dress and bowed deeply before king Baldwin, “Greetings ... y-your majesty ... m-my name ... Hyacintha.” said the beautiful girl named ... Hyacintha.
Her pinkish irises slowly rolled upwards to stare at the young king. A pair of sparkling and beautiful big doe eyes. A faint blush also appeared on her chubby cheeks, her skin the color of honey-sweet. Baldwin was stunned for a few moments, his blue-gray eye gazing at the two rhodonite gems before him. At that moment, his heart raced, there was a strange and unfamiliar feeling in his chest that even he did not understand.
Baldwin slowly bent his body down to Hyacintha’s level. The difference in their height was obvious, of course-Hyacintha had just turned twelve. That meant she was four years younger than Baldwin.
“Greetings, sweetling ... Hyacintha, huh? A beautiful flower name.” Baldwin said with a gentle smile, his eyes once again cranked.
The breeze then blew gently and shackled the two in an indescribable connection. The fabric of Baldwin’s white headdress fluttered gently, and Hyacintha’s long hair danced in the cool breeze.
