Chapter 35

Lizzy giggles and drops the act, looking relieved. "Shut up!" she says, laughing. "Tell me more about him." I said, taking the last sip from my strawberry milkshake and focused my eyes on her.

"He's just so... effortless. You know? He has this whole nonchalant vibe going on, like nothing ever fazes him. And his voice... oh my goodness, his voice is like butter. It's so deep and smooth, it just melts me.

And then there's the scar above his eyebrow. It's like a little imperfection that makes him even more perfect. I mean, it's not like it's a big, ugly scar or anything. It's just a small, faint line that adds to his whole rugged charm.

When he talks, he doesn't even raise his voice. He just speaks in this low, even tone that's so calming. And his words are always so... measured, I guess. Like he's choosing each one carefully, but not in a way that feels forced or fake.

I don't know, there's just something about him that makes me feel all fluttery inside. Maybe it's the way he carries himself, all relaxed and confident. Or maybe it's just that deep, rumbly voice of his. Whatever it is, I am totally hooked." She said, her voice muffled as she buried her face in her hands.

"The way you described him just proves that you are into him." I whispered to her before stuffing food in my mouth. I was eating vienna rolls with extra cream cheese.

"What about you and Kieran? Did he ask you to out?" She winked at me before sipping her juice. "He didn't ask me out ." I mumbled under my breath as I avoided eye contact with her but I'm sure she heard me.

"Why hasn't he asked you out yet? I thought you guys were dating."

"It's complicated actually." I said before taking a sip from my strawberry shake. I had never had thought of dating anyone but Kieran. I don't know or understand the feelings I have towards. I don't know if I love him as a friend or as a boyfriend.

"Hey, I have an idea. Give me your phone." She leaned forward and brought her hand forward. My eyes immediately narrowed at her.

"No, I don't trust you with my phone." I said before tightening my grib on my phone. Liz and my phone, they are like best friends whenever they are together and ever since she texted Kieran pretending to be me and agreed on going with him on a date and I don't want that happening or anything worse.

"I won't do anything stupid, I swear." She said, with a smile on her face. Must be a fake smile. "I don't trust you with my phone anymore, not after what you did last time." I grind my teeth. "What I did last time was a good thing, but I swear never to do it. Now would you just borrow me already, please?"

I examined her before grabbing my phone from my school bag and handed it to her. "You better not do anything stupid." I warned her. Liz rolled her eyes and muttered a 'Yeah yeah.' Her thumbs flexed on my phone, a smile building up on her face, she must be typing something.

After a while, she gave me my phone. "What were you doing?" I asked. "I texted Kieran-" I cut her off. "What!" I said my voice barely at whisper, everyone's attention turned to me. "Are you crazy?" I lowered my voice. "Just hear me out, I only said he should meet you at the science lab."

Uh jezz

"To do what exactly?"

"I don't kno-, shit he's coming this way. See you after school." Liz yelled on her way out the cafeteria. The moment she disappeared from my sight, my eyes landed on Kieran. His shoulders were broad, chest up and chin high. He was wearing a black cargo Jean and a white classic shirt. His tattoos trailed from his arm to his neck, veins popped up and his adam's apple moved up and down whenever he swallows his saliva.

"Hey." Kieran said as he sat next to me, leaving no space between us. "Why did you ask to meet at the cafeteria? Is everything okay?" His brows narrowed at me and his voice was low.

No, everything is not okay. Lizzy texted you pretending to be me and asked to meet at the cafeteria. "I butt texted you, sorry for disturbance." This was the safest thing to explain things. I wouldn't want him thinking Liz wants him. Kieran lifted my chin up and leaned in, our nose closely together.

"We both know what you said doesn't make any sense." His deep voice sent shivers down my spine. I closed my eyes shut before opening my mouth. "I wanted to ask if I can be your valentine?"

Kieran went silent, I opened my eyes to see if his still there and he smiled before laying a kiss on my forehead. "You know, I would have asked you properly." He paused as he sat up straight. "Will you be my Valentine?"
