Elena's world tilted. She staggered back, her mind racing. His wife?
"No," she whispered, shaking her head. "That's impossible."
But the painting said otherwise. The version of herself staring back from the canvas wasn't just similar-it was exactly her. The same eyes, the same curve of her lips, the same way she held herself.
She forced herself to look at Liam. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes-they held centuries of sorrow.
"Elena, please," he said softly, stepping toward her. "I know this is overwhelming, but you have to believe me. We've been here before. This house, this life... it was ours."
Her breathing was shallow. "How do you know that?"
Liam hesitated, then reached into his pocket, pulling out the same silver pocket watch that had started all of this.
"Because every lifetime, I find you," he murmured, flipping the watch open. Inside, the delicate hands of the clock had stopped at 11:11-a moment frozen in time. Beneath the glass, an inscription was etched into the metal.
To my love, Elena Bennett. May time never keep us apart.
The air left her lungs.
Her fingers trembled as she touched the words. The elegant script was too perfect to be a coincidence. But she hadn't written it. Had she?
Liam watched her carefully. "This watch belonged to you, Elena. A long time ago."
Memories stirred, like shadows dancing just beyond her reach. Her head throbbed. She pressed a hand to her temple, willing herself to remember.
A flash-rain pounding against a cobblestone street, a warm hand holding hers, a whispered promise.
Another-a deep, aching pain, someone calling her name, the sound of breaking glass.
Elena gasped, her knees buckling.
Liam caught her before she fell. His grip was steady, familiar. Like home.
"Elena," he whispered, voice laced with something dangerously close to desperation. "Do you remember?"
Her lips parted. She didn't know what to say.
All she knew was one terrifying, impossible truth-
She wasn't just a visitor in this time. She belonged to it.

"If someone showed you proof that you had lived before, would you want to remember-or would you be too afraid?"
抖阴社区 down those answers ❤️😉😁
