soobin groaned dramatically, flopping back onto the mattress. "ugh, i knew we should've stopped somewhere before coming here."

"oh my god, fine," beomgyu huffed, standing up. "but don't expect anything fancy."

"we'll help," hueningkai said, finally getting up and stretching.

"we'll raid your kitchen," yeonjun corrected, grinning as he ruffled beomgyu's hair on the way to the pantry.

"get your nasty tour hands away from me," beomgyu grumbled, swatting him away.

they all ended up crowding into beomgyu's tiny kitchen, rummaging through the cabinets and fridge like a pack of starving wolves. yeonjun and hueningkai pulled out instant ramen, soobin found a few eggs and some leftover rice, and taehyun grabbed whatever seasoning he could find.

"this is the most broke college student meal i've ever seen," beomgyu said, shaking his head.

"and yet it's about to be so good," hueningkai replied, already heating up the pan.

between all of them working together (and a lot of unnecessary bickering), they somehow managed to put together a decent lunch. yeonjun and hueningkai handled the ramen, soobin and beomgyu took care of the eggs, and taehyun oversaw everything, occasionally sprinkling in seasonings and making sure nothing burned.

eventually, they all settled in the living room again, plates balanced on their laps as they dug into their makeshift meal.

"not bad," taehyun said after a bite, nodding approvingly.

"not bad?" beomgyu scoffed. "this is amazing. we're basically gourmet chefs."

"sure, buddy," soobin deadpanned.

beomgyu rolled his eyes, but he was smiling. it was stupid, really—how something as simple as cooking a meal together could make him feel so at home. but here he was, surrounded by his friends, eating an ungodly combination of food, and feeling like nothing else in the world mattered.

after finishing their makeshift lunch, the five of them somehow ended up sprawled across beomgyu's living room floor, laughing at the dumbest things. at some point, yeonjun—probably out of sheer boredom—randomly decided to attempt a handstand in the middle of the room.

"watch this," he announced, standing up and stretching his arms.

"oh god," soobin muttered, already bracing himself for disaster.

"if he falls, i'm not helping him up," beomgyu deadpanned, leaning back on his hands.

"i won't fall," yeonjun argued, confidently placing his hands on the floor.

seconds later, he kicked himself up and wobbled dangerously before toppling over with a loud thud. hueningkai let out a loud cackle while soobin just sighed, already used to yeonjun's antics.

"okay, okay, my turn!" hueningkai announced, bouncing up excitedly.

one by one, they all took turns attempting handstands—each failing spectacularly in their own ways. hueningkai nearly knocked over a lamp, soobin didn't even try, beomgyu managed to hold his for a second before collapsing onto the couch dramatically,

and taehyun... well, taehyun actually did it, much to everyone's annoyance.

"show-off," beomgyu muttered, crossing his arms as taehyun landed back on his feet effortlessly.

taehyun smirked, tilting his head. "don't be mad just because i'm better than you at literally everything."

beomgyu shoved him. taehyun just laughed.
