beomgyu's heart did an embarrassing flip, but he kept his face neutral as he made his way to the kitchen. "you're lucky i'm too tired to kick you out."

taehyun only laughed, following him like he always did.

beomgyu sighed as he walked into the kitchen, taehyun trailing behind him like a shadow. "if you're gonna just stand there, at least make yourself useful," beomgyu said, pulling out some eggs and bread from the fridge.

"hmm," taehyun hummed, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed. "nah, i like watching you."

beomgyu paused for a split second before scoffing. "you're so annoying."

taehyun only grinned. "i know."

shaking his head, beomgyu grabbed a bowl and started cracking the eggs, whisking them together for the scrambled eggs. the kitchen was quiet aside from the soft sounds of the eggs being beaten and the occasional clinking of utensils. he could feel taehyun's gaze on him, which only made him more aware of every little thing he was doing.

"what?" beomgyu finally said, glancing at taehyun.

taehyun tilted his head. "nothing. just thinking."

"thinking about what?"

"how cute you look when you cook."

beomgyu nearly dropped the whisk. he shot taehyun a glare, but the warmth in his cheeks betrayed him. "stop saying stuff like that."

"why?" taehyun smirked. "does it fluster you?"

"no."

"liar."

beomgyu ignored him and moved on to making the french toast, dipping the bread into the egg mixture before placing it onto the heated pan. taehyun still hadn't moved from his spot right beside him, watching intently.

"you know, i could help," taehyun mused.

beomgyu side-eyed him. "oh, now you wanna help?"

"yeah," taehyun said, reaching over to grab a fork and poke at the eggs in the pan. "see? i'm helping."

"wow," beomgyu deadpanned. "what would i ever do without you?"

taehyun grinned. "exactly. you'd be lost without me."

beomgyu rolled his eyes but didn't say anything. once the french toast was golden brown and the scrambled eggs were done, he plated the food and handed taehyun a fork.

"here. your precious breakfast," beomgyu said, sliding a plate toward him.

taehyun took a bite, chewing thoughtfully before nodding. "damn. this is actually really good."

"of course it is," beomgyu said proudly. "i know how to cook."

taehyun smirked. "so you're saying you'd make me breakfast every morning if we lived together?"

beomgyu choked on his own bite. "who said anything about living together?"

taehyun only shrugged, looking all too pleased with himself. "just a thought."

beomgyu quickly turned his attention back to his food, choosing to ignore the way his heart did a little flip at the idea.

they ended up on the couch after breakfast, beomgyu leaning into taehyun's side without even thinking about it. his head rested on taehyun's shoulder, and their hands naturally found each other—taehyun absentmindedly playing with beomgyu's fingers, tracing the lines on his palm. it was comfortable, easy.
