Jiyu blinked, looking at the man who sat comfortably, legs crossed before her, as he started counting the reasons why she was basically the dumbest human he had ever seen.

"First," he raised his index finger, "who the fuck drives through this hell of a road? Wanted to get home fast? Congrats, you almost got to heaven! Much comfier!" he mocked, and Jiyu found herself looking down, pursing her lips as she listened to the strange creature scolding her.

"And why the heck would you believe that a woman would bring her daughter here? To enjoy the scenery of closed factories?" He bit his thumb with his fang, making her move her gaze to look at his actions as he moved his bleeding thumb to her bruised leg, grabbing it gently with his other hand.

"You could've at least called an ambulance and left, if you wanna be the angel you are or whatever," he muttered as he let his blood drop on her bruise after taking her heel off with his other hand.

Jiyu's eyes widened, and she gasped, putting her palm over her mouth as she watched the blood disappear—along with her bruise and pain.

He looked unbothered as he licked his thumb, healing the little wound immediately, observing her as she tried to stand up. And she did, looking down at her now healthy legs in disbelief. She kicked off her other heel and flexed her legs, not feeling any pain.

"How—" she stopped mid-sentence when he stood up, her words getting caught in her throat as she looked up into his red eyes.

Jiyu was 160 cm without her heels, and he was 183 cm, with the most unique yet dominating aura she had ever felt.

"What now, human?" He tilted his head, smirking. "Scared?"

"What the fuck are you?!" Jiyu took a step back, making the man's red eyes roll as he scoffed.

"The only thing humans get right about vampires is that we have red eyes, and you can't even figure that out."

"Va—what?" She scoffed. "Please." She laughed, but he didn’t.

She wiped a tear of laughter, then eventually calmed down as she looked at his calm face, her smile slowly disappearing. She swallowed.

"For real?" she asked skeptically.

He sighed but nodded. And she blinked again, her mouth slightly open as she processed the information.

Well, she didn’t—because she fainted the next moment.

Hyunjin sighed again, grabbing the collar of her shirt with his fingertips.

Eventually, he leaned down, grabbing her waist before throwing her over his shoulder with one arm securing her, his other hand still in his pocket.

And he disappeared again—this time with her—leaving the same dark feathers behind them.
