Pushing His Limit
Ananya had made up her mind- if she is suffering, he has to suffer too.
If she was stuck in this village, married to Mr. Rules and Discipline, then she might as well make things fun.
And by fun, she meant testing exactly how much it would take to break Virat's ever-so-calm exterior.
It wasn't about revenge.
It wasn't about rebellion. It was just... curiosity.
How far could she push him before he snapped?
Only one way to find out.
Virat was the definition of predictable.
He woke up at 5 AM, did his morning routines, went to school, and came back at the exact same time every day.
Boring.
So, the first thing Ananya did was mess with his schedule.
It started with his morning tea.
Virat always drank it at precisely 6:30 AM, seated at the dining table, reading the newspaper like an old man.
So, she beat him to it.
The next morning, she took the newspaper, the best chair in the courtyard, and—just to be extra—finished the last of the tea before he came out.
When Virat stepped out, hair still slightly damp from his shower, he paused.
His usual routine was ruined.
She didn't look up. She just flipped the page dramatically, sipping the last drops of tea.
He stood there for a moment, then exhaled slowly, turning away.
She smirked.
Step one: mildly successful.
By the time lunch rolled around, Ananya decided it was time for round two.
Virat liked his food simple. Home-cooked, not too spicy, not too oily.
So naturally, Ananya took over the kitchen before he could cook and made the most absurdly fancy meal possible.
Exotic pasta. Extra cheese. Expensive olives. A total disaster in a village kitchen.
When Virat walked in, expecting his usual dal and roti, he stopped in his tracks.
He looked at the chaotic counter, the ridiculous meal, then at her.
She leaned against the counter, smirking. "What? I thought we should try something different today."
He didn't respond immediately. He just picked up a spoon, took a small bite... and stared at it.
Then, with zero emotion, he set the spoon down and walked away.
She blinked. That's it? No argument? No reaction?
Okay, maybe she needed to up her game.
By afternoon, Ananya was bored again.
She had messed up his morning, ruined his lunch, and still—nothing.
Virat hadn't snapped, hadn't scolded her, hadn't reacted the way she expected.
But she knew how to change that.
Breaking the one rule he had given her.
She waited until he had left for the school again. Then, without a second thought, she stepped outside the haveli and wandered back into the village.
