13 If the Language of Love is Monetary

When the language of love is monetary,

Gilded bars guard the world.

The scales of Hermes balance each transaction,

Intertwining the fourth dimension into,

Chronis and Kairos eternally.

Deep time's arrow piece mortality.

Bounty tips everywhither in Pythagorean's tumbling cups,

Until value is ascribed.

Before ecstatic affirmation is achieved,

Sensuous Athena is gazed upon,

For pleasurable gratification,

Deemed worthless when measured against gold.

Compassion is weighted against the needy.

Doled out in meniscus particles begrudgingly,

As blame is scaled in their favour.

Syllables, fair words, mighty in their use,

Weigh down on the innocent,

Only to fall into a pit of self-pity,

And that gilded cage is locked.
