Epilogue
I inhale deeply and take in the fresh air around me. The subtle hints of roses and and tulips fill my lungs and you can feel spring in full motion. This garden has become one of my pride and joys in life. It is something that eases my mind and connects me with nature, when memories of the past come attacking my mind I have the soil to take me back to the present. Jake helped me build it and come up with the designs shortly after our marriage in front of the pack four years ago.
Closing my eyes I take one last deep breath before I since my mate and best friend coming up behind me. "How are you doing dear?" Jake asks me while putting an arm around my shoulder. I push my body into the side of his and feel the comfort and love that occurs whenever he is around. Five years ago Jake saved me from a life that would have eventually brought me to a young death, but now with him by my side I have never felt so careless and free. "I am doing amazing," I whisper while looking up at his face and lean in for a kiss which he happily gives me.
"And how are you doing little baby May?" I lean down and kiss the forehead of our daughter that Jake is carrying in his other arm like she is the most precious thing in the world. When I found out I was pregnant last year I was beyond excited and knew that I would work tirelessly to become the best mother I could be. Jake was overjoyed and then immediately went into over protective and preparation mode. But I could not ask for a better father for my child, he loves her with his whole heart and made me fall in love with him ten times more deeply.
And not to mention the pack is obsessed with her including Dallas and his mate. They came over from his pack where he is now the Alpha the day she was born, bringing his daughter and son along with him to meet their new baby cousin.
"This is the love I have always wanted for us," Jake speaks softly looking into my eyes and then gesturing out towards the garden and house, "I had this dream since before I even knew you. Thank you for making it a reality. I love you."
"And thank you for saving me, I love our life and pack. And most importantly I love you and our family."
Jake pulls me in even closer to his side and gives me a big one armed bear hug, causing me to laugh loudly before I return the affection.
