Goodbye, Lua.

Although Donald Trump was physically distant, he never stopped having control over his son's life. Even without being around, he observed every move, manipulating the pieces of the game from afar. He always had a clear vision of Barron's relationship with Lua:

he disapproved!

To him, she was not worthy of his son; he wanted Barron far away from her.

Knowing he couldn't interfere directly, Donald decided to act in more subtle ways, as he always did. He placed one of his trusted men to keep an eye on Lua. He had clear instructions: monitor her every move, wait for the right moment, one that could harm Barron and Lua's relationship.

Then, the opportunity arose. Lua was sitting in a café, at a table with a classmate. They were focused on an academic project. It was a simple study session, a moment between two students. However, Donald's watcher was alert, waiting for the perfect moment.

When the work came to an end, Lua's classmate stood up to say goodbye. They exchanged a friendly hug, a gesture of courtesy after an afternoon of working together. To anyone else, it would have been a completely normal scene. But the positioning of their bodies, the perfect angle, made that hug potentially problematic. He knew that if the image were sent to Barron, he would see something more intimate than it really was.

Without wasting time, the watcher took the photo and sent it from a private number to Barron, without any comment, just the image. Donald, knowing that his plan had worked, had a victorious smile on his face.

Barron, upon seeing the message from a private number, felt a pang of curiosity. When he opened the photo, his heart froze seeing Lua and her friend hugging. The image seemed to suggest something more than just friendship, and what had once been a vague doubt now appeared to be a sure blow.

Barron didn't want to believe it.

He then printed the photo, took his phone, and sent a message to Lua:

"Barron: Wait for me at the bookstore!"

Barron entered the bookstore, his steps heavy as he looked toward the table in the corner where Lua was sitting. Everything seemed the same, but at the same time, nothing felt the same anymore. The emptiness in his chest grew with every step he took toward her. He already knew what he had to do, but the pain of having to do it consumed him.

Lua looked up when she saw him and smiled, but her smile faded when she noticed Barron's serious expression. She tried to approach him, but he was already sitting down brusquely, not greeting her as usual. The silence between them felt dense and uncomfortable.

— Barron, what happened? — she asked, trying to understand what was wrong. She already knew something was off, but she didn’t expect what was coming next.

He looked at her with a distant gaze, his eyes cold and hard. There was no sweetness left in him. Barron felt a weight in his chest but kept his posture rigid.

— Lua, I saw the photos, I discovered everything! — he said with a coldness that made Lua tremble, and then he placed a photo under the table. It was her and her friend hugging, the angle of the photo made it seem something much more intimate.

She tried to explain herself, but Barron wouldn’t let her. His words came out sharp.

— There’s nothing more to say, I saw what I needed to see. And I was a complete idiot. I gave myself to you in a way I’ve never done with anyone, and look what you did… — He couldn’t hide the pain anymore. — You went to bed with me so easily... Now, seeing all of this, I realize I should’ve figured out that you weren’t worth anything, and my father was right.

Lua felt a knot tighten in her throat. She wanted to speak, to say that it wasn’t like that, that the photo was misinterpreted, but she couldn’t find the right words. Barron interrupted her again, his gaze now filled with anger and disappointment.

— He warned me, and I ignored it. I should’ve noticed, but I was blind, thinking you were different, but you’re not. You betrayed me! — His pain overflowed, and Lua realized he was being manipulated by something bigger than she could imagine. His father, Donald Trump, was surely behind all of this. This dirty game he had set up to separate them.

She tried to approach him, but Barron stood up with a sharp movement. He grabbed his backpack and prepared to leave, not even looking at her. Lua was desperate, but she didn’t know what to do. His words were cutting like blades.

— It started here, and it ends here! — Barron said, with no trace of regret, but with deep sadness. He was unyielding, as if he had made an irreversible decision.

Lua tried once more, her voice breaking.

— Barron, please, you don’t understand. I didn’t do anything wrong, I... — But he cut her off, no patience left.

— I’ve seen enough, Lua! — He gave her one last look, but it was an empty look, devoid of love, of any connection they once had.

— Goodbye, Lua.

With those words, Barron walked away, his steps firm and determined. Lua stood there, frozen, as if the ground had disappeared beneath her feet. She wanted to scream, to run after him, but she knew there was nothing more she could do. She looked at the table, at the photo, and the pain became unbearable. The place that once felt so special, where everything seemed possible, was now just a symbol of what she had lost. She couldn’t stop crying.
