Underfell Papyrus x Reader PART 2(Lemon ?)

Start from the beginning

Blinking away your unease, you moved further into the room. The air felt colder, the silence more suffocating. On the far side, there were massive saws and drills mounted to the walls, their sharp edges gleaming under the weak, flickering light. Shelves lined with bottles filled with bright, colorful liquids caught your attention. You picked one up, its warmth surprising against your fingers.

"Whoa..." you breathed, watching as the liquid swirled inside, shifting through vibrant hues like a living kaleidoscope. For a moment, you were captivated, until your eyes landed on the label:

"Determination. Subj. 6. Frisk."

Your smile vanished, and a heavy knot twisted in your stomach. No wonder she had wanted to leave. The realization hit hard, even after all this time, the liquid was warm, still pulsing with energy. It was incredible... but unsettling.

You quickly set the bottle back on the table, your heart pounding. As fascinating as it was, you couldn't bear to stay and think about what it meant.

"Okay, let's get your mind off that, (Y/N)," you mumbled, your voice barely above a whisper. Your eyes landed on a curtain hanging from metal bars on wheels. The fabric was thin and a light blue color slightly faded with age.

You reached out, gripping the bars, and a loud creak echoed through the room. It sounded like the curtain hadn't been moved in ages. Curiosity guiding you, you walked around it, revealing a small table cluttered with a computer, a printer, and another machine whose purpose you couldn't quite discern.

For some reason, the printer caught your attention. Placing your hands on it, you were surprised to feel its lingering warmth, evidence that it had been used recently. Standing on your tiptoes, you peeked behind the machine, eyeing the tangled mess of unfamiliar cables and connectors. If it ever came down to a life-or-death situation where you'd need to make sense of this technology, you'd be doomed.

The thought made you chuckle softly, and you quickly covered your mouth, amused by your own nerves. The room was heavy with silence, but for a brief moment, you found a distraction from the unsettling discoveries you'd made moments ago.

Your brief distraction quickly faded when you felt someone press up against you from behind, their presence towering over you. A chill ran down your spine as your gaze shifted to the side, landing on a familiar gloved hand resting just beside yours. Your stomach flipped from the sudden closeness.

"What's so funny, hmm?" Papyrus's voice was low, his breath brushing against your hair.

You looked up, your eyes meeting his. His expression was firm, carefully guarded, but there was something beneath it, a flicker of curiosity. Despite his attempt to appear composed, you couldn't help but smile, catching him slightly off guard.

"It was just a silly thought." You admitted, glancing back to the mess of cords behind the printer. Standing on your tiptoes again, you gestured toward the tangled wires. Papyrus tilted his head, following your gaze. In doing so, he leaned in closer, his chin resting gently atop your head.

Your heart thumped loudly in your chest. This was one of the few times he'd shown this kind of casual affection, and it made your cheeks burn.

"Yes? And what about them?"  He asked softly, his voice steady yet curious.

"Well," you began, a light chuckle slipping out, "I was thinking... if there was ever a situation where I had to use this machine, we'd all be doomed. None of these cords look like anything I'm used to from the surface."

Papyrus let out a quiet huff. "A good thing, then, that I don't expect you to operate Alphys's mess of technology,"  He said quietly looking away.
