Jian's P.O.V

*A month later*

"I love you so much," I said softly, my eyes locked onto San's as I leaned in.

Our lips met, and for a few moments, the world faded away. The kiss was warm, deep, and full of emotion—nothing hurried, nothing forced. Just us. When we finally pulled away, I found myself smiling, my heart fluttering in my chest.

"I love you too," San murmured, his voice gentle yet firm, like he truly meant it.

We shared one last embrace before he took a step back, his fingers lingering in mine for a second longer than necessary.

"I'll see you later," he said, flashing me a soft smile.

"Bye," I replied, watching as he turned and disappeared down the hallway.

With a light heart, I made my way to class and settled into my assigned seat.

Then, a voice cut through my thoughts.

"I still don't know how you can kiss him."

I glanced to my side and met Chan's eyes. His expression was unreadable, but there was something in his tone—disapproval, maybe even concern.

I exhaled sharply, irritation flickering in my chest. "And why exactly is that any of your business?" I snapped.

San and I have been together for a month now. If this was all some kind of a prank, wouldn't he have called it off by now? He kissed me like he meant it. He treated me like I mattered. If this wasn't real, then San has to be an incredible actor.

I don't want to believe it is fake.

I can't believe it is fake.

I might not have had much experience with relationships, but I know what I feel. San is my first real boyfriend, my first real relationship, and I don't want my first experience of love to be a lie. Because I'm not lying. My feelings are real.

And if I was the only one who was truly committed... then what did that say about me?

San seemed committed. Whenever I asked him to spend time with me, he did. He always planned our dates, met me at school every morning, and even prioritized me over his best friend, Hwan—even though I knew Hwan wasn't thrilled about it.

It didn't make sense for this to be fake.

It just didn't.

*After school*

As we were walking together after school, San suddenly turned to me.

"Instead of going home, do you want to come to mine?"

His voice was casual, but there was a hopeful gleam in his eyes. I blinked in surprise before nodding almost immediately.

"Sure. That sounds great. My mom won't mind. I'll tell her, I am going to Gabby's," I assured him.

His face lit up with a smile, and he squeezed my hand as we continued walking.

When we reached his house, he hesitated for a second before opening the door. "My parents aren't home, so I can't introduce you yet," he said with a small laugh.

I forced a smile, unsure how to feel about that.

A part of me felt relieved—I didn't have to go through the awkward first-meeting nerves. But another part of me wondered... If he was really serious about me, wouldn't he want me to meet them?
