It was the first day of spring soccer practice, and Dimey couldn't be more excited. This was going to be his first time on a real travel team (although, at his age they won't be traveling very far). The one big disappointment for Dimey is that he wouldn't get to be playing with Capy. While she would be practicing right across the field.

Before practice started, Dimey and Capy gave each other a big hug, sad that this is where their soccer journey would end.

"I wish I could play with the boys." Capy stated. "The girls are not as fun."

"I wish you could play with us too." Dimey replied.

Pen couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. "You guys know that there's still school, right?"

"But it's not the same!" Capy moaned.

Needle looked over at the field, and it looked like the kids were about to start. "Alright you two, it looks like it's time to head over."

"Awwwwwww." The two kids said in disappointment.

Pen and Needle had to practically pull the kids apart. "It's only for an hour." Pen stated. "Maybe we'll let you play in the woods after practice."

The eyes of both Dimey and Capy started to beam. "Please mom?" Dimey begged.

"Yeah, please!" Capy replied.

Needle playfully rolled her eyes. "Alright, I guess so. But you guys better put in a good effort in practice today!"

"We will, mom!" Dimey promised.

The two kids made their way towards the field, while Pen and Needle made their way to the bleachers. The two adults sat down right in the middle next to each other, both getting good views of both of the kids.

"So." Pen stated. "This is what it's like to be on the sidelines."

Needle chuckled. "Welcome to the club! Now I actually have someone to talk to instead of having to drag Coiny, Pin, or the kids along for some company."

Pen smirked. "Well, I guess you're stuck with me now."

Needle crossed her arms. "As long as you don't start yelling at the coach every five minutes, I think I can live with that."

Pen laughed. "No promises."

The kids were gathered by their coaches and were each starting their respective warmup drills. The girls started with some individual dribbling drills, while the boys were working on their passing.

Dimey was already buzzing with energy, passing the ball back and forth with a teammate. He stole quick glances at Capy whenever he could, hoping she was having fun too. But from the way she kicked the ball a little too hard and crossed her arms every time she had to wait her turn, he could tell she wasn't enjoying herself.

Capy had always been one of the best players when they played together, but now she seemed frustrated. The girls on her team weren't bad, but Capy had always loved playing with Dimey and the fast-paced, competitive energy they had together.

From the bleachers, Pen sighed. "I hope she warms up to this. If I learned anything from you, it's that girls can be just as competitive as the guys."

"Oh, trust me, I know," Needle said with a smirk. "Capy's already ahead of most girls her age. I remember back in BFDIA, when I was trying to fit in with all the Freesmart girls..."

"Gosh, I completely forgot about that." Pen stated. "It's so weird to think you were actually quite close with them at some point."

"Tell me about it." Needle scoffed. "But once I realized I didn't need to be apart of their drama...lets just say, a new Needle was born."
