Kiara's eyes fluttered open, her head pounding as she took in her surroundings. She was in a dimly lit room with super cold walls, no windows with absolutely no means of ventelation so bascially, fully locked. Can we guess who was doomed?
She rushed to the door, twisting the handle like any sane person would do, right? But sadly nothing changed. Next, She shoved her weight against it.
Still nothing.A slow, deliberate clap filled the room. "Looks like Nathan found himself a good one."
Kiara froze, surely she wasn't expecting anyone else in the room. Turning around, she was met with piercing, calculating eyes. A woman stood by the door, a smirk playing on her lips she automatically assumed it to be her-Belinda Gale.
Kiara's blood boiled. "Let me out, you psycho."
Belinda chuckled. "Fiery. I like that."
Kiara kicked the door, rattling it in frustration. "You won't get away with this."
Belinda tilted her head, completely unbothered. "Oh, darling, I already have."
Kiara glared at her, seething, Gale was right... no no no she shouldn't think that. The woman's smirk widened. "Don't worry. I'll keep you very well." She leaned against the doorframe. "Ask Jamie or Mac whatever you'd prefer."
Kiara's breath hitched. Before she could process those words, the door opened, and in walked a familiar figure.
Jamie.
His expression was confused, almost dazed. Like he had no idea what was going on. Kiara stared at him, her mind reeling. There was something about him... the sharp jawline, the striking eye color...
She had noticed before-but now it clicked. Jamie and Nathan. They looked like- Siblings... exactly like Nathan had told her.
Belinda turned to Jamie, her voice smooth, laced with deceit. "I finally found her."
Jamie's brows furrowed. "What?"
Belinda sighed, faking all the sadness she could. "Jamie... Kiara is your sister."
Kiara's eyes widened.
"She was also kept hostage by Nathan," Belinda continued. "He hid her from you. But now... I've brought you two together."
Jamie looked between them, his uncertainty clear.
Kiara understood immediately. He doesn't know the truth. He had been fed so many lies. Her gaze met his, and she gave him a small, subtle nod. She had a plan.
Belinda exhaled, satisfied. "I'll let you two be on your own." With that, she turned on her heels and exited the room, locking the door behind her.
Jamie turned to Kiara, hesitant. "...Are we really-?"
"No."
He inhaled sharply. "Then why did she-"
"You don't know anything, do you?" Kiara interrupted, studying him.
Jamie clenched his jaw. "I... I don't know. Everything is a blur."
Kiara took a cautious step forward. "I'll tell you everything. Just trust me."
Jamie hesitated. "I can't. Not until you show me proof."
Kiara's heart sank. She had no proof. Nothing to prove Nathan was on the good side. Nothing to prove Belinda was lying.
Think, Kiara. Think.
Her eyes scanned the room. And then-she spotted a file.. she felt like this could help her in some way.
"Jamie," she whispered. "Get that file."
Jamie blinked but complied, grabbing the file and handing it over. Kiara flipped through it-and her breath caught, she was right. The file had pictures of Nathan and articles about Blitech's successor.
She turned the pages, pointing at a photo of Nathan in a suit, standing in front of the company. "Look at him."
Jamie frowned. "So?"
"His eye color," Kiara said. "His hair. His face. Everything." Jamie's lips parted slightly as he took in the similarities. "We're not siblings," Kiara murmured. "You and Nathan are."
Jamie's fingers tightened on the papers. For the first time, doubt flickered across his face.
Kiara held her breath. She needed him to believe her. Because if she could get Jamie on their side-they had a chance.
---
Liam's fingers flew over his keyboard, his screen reflecting endless strings of code, but no success. He was hacking into Black's security. Or at least, trying to.
Nothing. No breach. No location. It was what you call - Helpless.
A sharp voice snapped him out of it. "He's not even trying."
Liam's teeth clenched. He didn't have to look up to know who it was. Ryna.
Nathan sat beside her, silent. His brows furrowed in worry. Not for Liam but for Kiara and Jamie.
"Liam doesn't actually want to help," Ryna scoffed. "He's just pretending like he always does."
Liam's patience snapped.
"I AM trying!" he barked, his fingers slamming against the keys.
"Sure you are," Ryna said dryly. "That's why we're still nowhere."
Liam glared at her. "You think this is easy? Do you know how tight her system is?"
"Do you know how tight my patience is?" Ryna shot back.
Nathan exhaled sharply. "Both of you, enough."
Silence.
Nathan's hands curled into fists. "Right now, all that matters is Kiara and Jamie. I can't loose boht of them! Every person I have loved ends up leaving and disappearing. And all you both are doing is bickering like stupid idiots. Can you just be a little not kiddish and behave like adults for once!" His voice was strained. "Stop fighting and just-focus."
Liam clenched his jaw, his mind racing. He had to find something.
Now.
His hands moved rapidly, his coding riskier than before. The firewall cracked.
Liam's heart pounded. Another system bypassed.Then- finally, A ping.
His breath caught. He found it. Liam looked up his eyes wide, "I found it."
Nathan shot to his feet. Ryna stilled. Everything was about to change.
