Sunmi stormed off, her heart racing with anger. She couldn't believe Namjoon's nerve. Who did he think he was, anyway?
As she walked, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She spun around, ready to lash out, but it was So-yoon.
"Hey, Sunmi, wait up," So-yoon said, panting slightly. "What happened back there?"
Sunmi took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "Namjoon just got under my skin, that's all."
So-yoon nodded sympathetically. "I know how you feel. He can be really infuriating sometimes."
Sunmi smiled wryly. "Infuriating? That's one way to put it."
As they walked, they ran into Jimin, Jungkook, and Taehyung. "Hey, girls, what's going on?" Jimin asked, eyeing Sunmi's stormy expression.
So-yoon filled them in on the drama with Namjoon. The boys listened intently, their faces growing more and more serious.
"Don't worry, Sunmi," Taehyung said, putting a hand on her shoulder. "We've got your back."
Sunmi smiled, feeling a warmth in her heart. Maybe, just maybe, she was starting to develop feelings for Taehyung.
As they continued walking, they stumbled upon Namjoon, who was standing by his locker, looking unrepentant.
"You think you're so special, don't you?" Namjoon sneered, his eyes flashing with anger. "You think you can just waltz in here and steal the spotlight?"
Sunmi's eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about?"
Namjoon took a step closer, his voice dropping to a menacing whisper. "I'm talking about the New Year's party. You think you're invited? Ha! You're just a nobody."
Sunmi's face burned with anger. "How dare you!"
But before she could retaliate, Taehyung stepped in, his eyes flashing with anger. "Back off, Namjoon. Leave her alone."
Namjoon sneered, but he took a step back, his eyes never leaving Sunmi's face. "This isn't over," he growled, before turning and stalking off.
Sunmi watched him go, her heart still racing with anger. But as she turned to Taehyung, she saw something in his eyes that made her heart skip a beat - a fierce protectiveness that made her feel safe and cherished.
Sunmi trudged through the front door, exhausted from the drama-filled day. She had been looking forward to a peaceful evening at home, but as she entered the living room, she was met with a scowling Namjoon.
"What do you think you're doing?" Namjoon shouted, his face red with anger.
Sunmi took a step back, surprised by his outburst. "What are you talking about?"
Namjoon's eyes blazed with fury. "You're telling everyone that you're my sister! Do you have any idea how embarrassing that is?"
Sunmi's eyes narrowed. "I'm your sister, whether you like it or not."
Namjoon sneered. "I never wanted a sister like you. A sister who killed our mother."
Sunmi's face burned with anger. "That's not fair! I was just a baby when Mom died. I didn't even know what was happening."
Their stepmother, who had been watching the exchange from the kitchen, stepped forward. "Namjoon, that's enough. Sunmi was just a baby. She didn't have anything to do with your mother's death."
But Namjoon wasn't having it. "Stay out of this!" he shouted, turning on his stepmother. "You'll never take Mom's place. You're just a pathetic substitute."
