After a good while we finally made it to the next town over. It was a quite large town. Some buildings were almost 5 stories tall, and somewhere almost touching the ground. The town ran into a valley. All of the buildings seem to be built on the sides of the valley as it ran right into a river at the bottom.
We started to go downhill abruptly, and our horse seemed to not be able to slow down as quickly as we needed to. After a good while we finally made it to the bottom of the town with the river flowing through the whole thing. There were almost a dozen bridges running over the river.
We walked across one of them and started going up the valley once more trying to find an in or a place to stay. After a while, the sun started to suddenly.
We still did not find a spot that we could stay the night. The sun was set and you can start seeing the stars in the sky. The clouds covered the moon as the sun set completely, and The sky became pitch black. I looked around and he abruptly stopped at a nice cozy inn that had a massive porch behind it over shadowing part of the valley.
We were inside and there was no one there besides the door laying down by the counter. It was no black dog that stared at us with its blue eyes. We walked up to the counter, and the dog walked up to us, staring at us with its eyes as it stood right by my feet.
Jackson rang the bell that was sitting on the counter and an old Man opened a door behind the counter. He walked with a cane and he had a mustache that almost covered his mouth. He had all white hair and a massive bald spot on the top of his head and a big glasses.
"Hello there, how can I help you on this fine evening?" he said in a raspy. Jackson seemed stunned as he didn't say anything at first but eventually, he said, "Oh, we would like a room, sir."
"Good. Good." He said, turning around and grabbing a key from the shelving behind him. "That will be 10 bucks for three days, right?" He said, handing us the keys. "I never said how many days we were saying, sir?" I said budding in.
"Well, I assumed you're staying for a while with your card that's outside." He said confused. Jackson quickly said, "We are staying three days, sir. That sounds good." He quickly pulled out his wallet and paid the man.
We went outside and grabbed our luggage and brought it inside and brought it to our room, which was all the way at the end of the hallway. After you opened the door, reset our stuff down and I looked around.
There was a queen size bed in the middle of the place right next to a desk with a chair. On one side of the bed, there was a door that led into a very small bathroom. There was a wall-mounted shower with a toilet and a sink.
"It looks like we're sharing, sorry." Jackson said he unpacked his stuff. *sigh* I sat down in the chair and put both of my legs up on top of it, resting my head on my knees. I stood at the window that was right next to the desk.
(Man, I don't know why I'm still hanging out with him... I mean, I have some money, but it's enough until I get a job... I feel really bad for... cheating on Azrael...) I snapped out of it when I heard A very loud sound out in the hallway. I quickly got up and opened the door.
I walked into the hallway and looked around for a moment to figure out what the sound was. I walked down the hallway, closing the door behind me. I walked down the hallway where the front door was, and there was a dog, wagging his tail as somebody walked in. "I'm so sorry!" He said repeatedly as he bowed to the old man.
"No need to apologize, you didn't do anything wrong." He said giving the man a key. He took it and walked towards me, holding his head with his hand. "Oh... hi there." He said almost running. He had dark brown hair that was too long for his chest and hair that covered his eyes completely. "Hi" I said
