Shenhe knelt at the side of Wu's body, pumping his chest rhythmically as she tried every possible way to improve and maintain the Saiyan's condition. Still, barely a flicker of ki burned in this man's body. His breathing was shallow, his heartbeat slowed to a crawl, and his body still, twitching intermittently as his destroyed muscles flexed involuntarily.

For mere seconds, Son Wu had stacked the Kaio-Ken onto the Super Saiyan transformation, combining a technique that required utter focus and concentration to prevent total destruction with a form that put immeasurable stress and strain on the emotional and physical state of the body. Stacked further onto his accumulated strain from his battle with Childe, and the catastrophic damage of Osial's strikes.

This was the price of dragging out every ounce of his body's power.

"Don't die like this...! You did it, you won!!!" Shenhe cried, tears welling up in her eyes. "You can't...! You can't just leave like this...! There's so much that I need to know...! To say...! I don't even know if I should hate you not!" 

For the first time in a long, long time, Shenhe began to shed tears for a being other than herself.

"MASTER!!!"

Shenhe tilted her head to the sky, crying out.

"MASTER, HELP ME!!!"

"!!!" On the other side of the harbor, in the midst of helping the human fighters of Liyue out of the wreckage of the Jade Chamber and surveying the overall damage sustained by the harbor, Cloud Retainer's head snapped up, sensing the distress of her student.

Without a word of explanation to her allies, Cloud Retainer flashed into the sky, glowing a bright turquoise as she flew across the harbor in seconds, diving down to where her student was trying her damndest to keep Son Wu alive.

"Shenhe!" Cloud Retainer said, landing near her student and waddling over hurriedly.

"It's Son...! He's dying!!!" Shenhe said, her breaths frantic and erratic, a far cry from the dead calm she had displayed almost her entire life. "I can't...! His heartbeat is slowing, and I can't stop it!" Shenhe cried.

"Accompany One, quickly!!!" Cloud Retainer said hurriedly, clamping her beak around Wu's ankle and hoisting him up, shooting into the sky and flying towards her abode. Shenhe followed, leaping into the sky after her master.

Cloud Retainer waddled hurriedly into the domain as Wu's limp body swayed and jerked in her beak's grasp. Shenhe fell in right behind her as Cloud Retainer moved to the back of her domain, entering a new room that Shenhe hadn't been in before. Her eyes widenned as she saw the contraption that Cloud Retainer had constructed here, a giant vat of glowing fluid fit with an oxygen mask and a dozen other apparatuses that monitored a person's vitals. She watched on as Cloud Retainer fitted Wu with each bit of medical equipment, before dunking him into the vat and letting his body float in the neutrally buoyant fluid.

"Wh-When did you make this...!?" Shenhe asked.

"Recently... It... It was Son's idea." Cloud Retainer said.

"So I was thinkin'..." Wu said, sitting cross-legged on the floor as Cloud Retainer was tinkering away with one of her latest contraptions. "What if you made a tank of healing juice that you could submerge an entire person in?" Wu asked.
