We returned to the hotel, and my anxiety was overwhelming. My mind kept insisting that I was going to go to jail, which terrified me. I lay on my bed with Jamie cuddled beside me, feeling like I was in a nightmare.

I was so ready to go home. Honestly, I wished I had never come here because then I wouldn't be in this mess. Stella had just dropped Jamie and me off at the hotel, saying she wanted to go out and get some fresh air. I knew she was upset because I hadn’t been honest with her about something important.

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Please don’t let it be the cops," I quietly repeated to myself. I opened the door to find Brian standing there. He looked a lot calmer than when I last saw him.

“How is Crim?” I asked. "Brian, I didn’t mean to hurt her. I feel so bad about it.” I wiped away some tears.

“You don’t get to cry, Ella,” he said coldly. “You should have told him! Jimmy deserved to know. Hell, I deserved to know!”

“I know,” I replied, looking down. “Brian, I… I…” I started to say, but Brian cut me off by raising his hand.

“No!” he demanded. “You had five years, and now that Jimmy is dead, you want to come here and act like nothing happened when you messed everything up! Crim is okay; she and her baby are going to be okay, but you need to pack your things and leave. We don’t ever want to see you again!”

"You're not pressing charges?" I asked Shockley, thinking it was the police when I came to the door. He shook his head.

"No. If you go to jail, who's going to take care of Jimmy's son?" he said. "It would be a shame for him to end up in the foster system."

"Brian," I cried, covering my face with my hands. "Please let me explain," I begged.

He just shook his head. "I didn't want to hear it Ella!" He growled. “Ella I was only sleeping with you back to try to help get you clean so that you would get Jimmy clean, there was nothing else,” he says. Witch heart more than a knife in my back. “Instead you get pregnant and you just leave, without any word. This is all your fault!” he says "Just leave, stay away from us" he crosses his arm in front of him. "That's all I came here to say" he said and stormed out of the hotel room without even shutting it or anything. I just fucked every chance I had of my son being away from anyone who actually knew his father.
