Lazy Saturday of donuts.

It was a lazy Saturday afternoon when Mia walked into her favorite bakery. The sweet scent of freshly baked pastries filled the air, making her stomach growl louder than the pop music playing in the background. She'd been craving donuts all week, and today, she was determined to indulge herself.

"One of everything, please!" she said to the baker behind the counter, her eyes sparkling with excitement. The baker chuckled, knowing exactly what kind of day it was. Mia grabbed her bag of treats and found a small table by the window, eager to dive in.

The first donut was a warm, cinnamon sugar delight, soft and pillowy as it melted in her mouth. It was followed by a chocolate-glazed one, then a cream-filled beauty, each one more delicious than the last. Mia barely paused between bites, savoring every bite like it was her last.

By donut number six, Mia felt a slight discomfort. Her stomach, which had once been a gracious host to the sugary goodness, was now starting to protest. She’d forgotten one important rule: there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

“Maybe just one more,” she thought, picking up a bright pink sprinkle-covered donut. As she bit into it, a soft gurgle escaped from her stomach. Mia paused mid-bite, her eyes widening as she felt her waistband tightening ever so slightly. But it was too late to stop now. The donut was already halfway gone, and the sweet temptation was just too much.

By the time Mia finished the last bite, she slouched back in her chair, her belly round and tight, poking out of her shirt like a balloon at full capacity. She rubbed her stomach gently, feeling the unmistakable pressure of a food-induced bloat. "Well, this was... a mistake," she thought, but couldn't help but laugh at herself. Her stomach looked like it might pop, but honestly, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt this content—donut-induced discomfort and all.

With a deep sigh, she stood up slowly, careful not to jostle her overstuffed belly too much. As she waddled out of the bakery, she promised herself she’d walk it off. Maybe next time, she’d stop at five donuts instead of six. Maybe.

Mia stepped outside, the cool afternoon air hitting her flushed cheeks. She let out a slow breath, pressing her hands against her overstuffed stomach. Each step felt like she was carrying a bowling ball in her belly, and for a moment, she considered just sitting on the nearest bench to recover.

“Nope, gotta walk it off,” she muttered to herself, patting her swollen middle.

She started down the sidewalk, taking slow, careful steps, but the fullness made every little bounce uncomfortable. Her belly gurgled in protest, still adjusting to the sugar overload. Pedestrians passed by, some giving her amused glances as she rubbed her distended stomach like a pregnant woman after a feast.

Determined, Mia turned toward the park, figuring a peaceful stroll might help. She found a quiet path and waddled along, enjoying the fresh air—until she spotted a group of joggers heading her way.

“Oh no,” she mumbled.

There was no way to hide her obvious food baby. Her once-loose sweater now clung to her round belly, and the waistband of her leggings had surrendered completely, rolling down slightly under the pressure. She thought about sucking in, but that ship had sailed five donuts ago.

As they ran past, one of the joggers, a fit woman in a tank top, gave her a knowing smile. “Food coma?” she asked playfully.

Mia let out a laugh, resting a hand on her stomach. “Something like that.”

The jogger chuckled. “Been there. Good luck walking it off!”

Mia grinned as they disappeared down the trail. Maybe she’d overdone it today, but honestly? No regrets. Well… maybe one—she still had a leftover donut in her bag, and now she wasn’t sure if she could ever look at another pastry again.
