(Y/N) decided to leave the factory. She could not live in a place that had no food, barely clean water, and no sunlight. She got in her car and drove back home. She was able to check the date on her flip phone, and she had an extra day of paid holiday, and she booked off quite a few to relax. Powering on her phone, she texted everyone back that her phone was broken and needed repairs, which everyone believed.
With a sigh of relief, she freshened up and made herself dinner. She was so hungry, she made extra, and ate all of it in one sitting. As much as she enjoyed Dr. Sawyer, she knew she had to prioritise herself and leave him in the past. She would've died in the factory, and she knows it. Their time was fun back in the 90s, but she needed to move on and focus on her career being a doctor. One that helps people.
After she had her shower and dinner, she turned on the tv and slipped on her slippers, sighing in contentment as she plopped on the couch, watching whatever had come on. However, even the shape of the television reminded her of Sawyer, causing her to frown as she fiddled with her fingers.
(Y/N) contemplated going back to see him one last time, but she snapped herself out of it. "No, (Y/N). You need to move on." She mumbled to herself. A notification on her flip phone diverted her attention, and it had a message from her mother.
'Hey, sweetie! Sorry to hear your phone broke, I hope it didn't cost too much! :) Anyway, when you're free, me and your father are thinking of flying down to see you. Is that ok, hon? We can go for dinner, walks, whatever you want! Love you!'
(Y/N) smiled softly and quickly replied.
'Sure, mom! It won't be for a bit yet, but maybe a few months' time? There's some major surgeries coming up soon at work, and I'm needed for them. But, I'll let you know asap! I love you too, and no, haha, the phone repairs didn't cost too much! :)))'
(Y/N) closed her flip phone and placed it on the living room table. She couldn't believe she was actually going to leave her family for Sawyer.
Meanwhile, at the factory, Sawyer was very angry. "How could she leave me like that?" He was so angry, his screen was glitching, and his eye flashed red. "When I find her, I'm going to -"
"Find her? No, Sawyer. You can not leave this factory. You and I will crack this secret together. Forget about (Y/N). She is not coming back for you." The Prototype seethed, having escorted Sawyer back down to the lab where his connection was a lot better. Sawyer grunted in anger and turned away from him. He sighed and accepted that (Y/N) was not going to come back, as much as he wanted her to. If he stayed human, he would've stayed with her.
Sawyer clenched his mechanical fists before releasing them as he vented a sigh. "You're right. I'll get to working on that secret." He left the room, thinking of past times between him and (Y/N).
(Y/N) was free, and he was trapped. A deserving punishment. They never saw one another again.
//woo this was a wild ride! I hope you guys enjoyed this book, and I apologise in advance about the sad endings 😭 Don't worry, if you guys want bonuses of Sawyer, let me know! ♥️
