THE SKY WAS a brilliant blue, the sun casting a golden glow over the packed Quidditch stands. The entire school had turned out for the final game of the season - Hufflepuff versus Ravenclaw. The match that would decide everything.
If Hufflepuff won, they would claim the Quidditch Cup for the first time in years.
Sophie hovered in front of the goalposts, her grip tight around her broom. Her heart pounded as she scanned the pitch, keeping an eye on Ravenclaw's Chasers. She knew they were quick, precise - especially with Cho Chang as their Seeker. Hufflepuff had fought too hard this year to lose now.
Across the field, Cedric circled high above the pitch, searching for the Snitch. The second he caught her eye, he gave her a nod. A silent message.
They could do this.
Madam Hooch's whistle blew, and the game exploded into action.
Hufflepuff's Chasers streaked forward, passing the Quaffle between them in a dazzling display of teamwork. The Ravenclaw Beaters sent a Bludger hurtling toward them, but one of Hufflepuff's Beaters knocked it away just in time.

One of Hufflepuff's Chasers caught the Quaffle and hurled it straight through the hoop.

The stands roared, yellow banners waving wildly in the air.
Ravenclaw wasted no time. Their Chasers regained possession, speeding toward Sophie.
She gritted her teeth, her muscles tensed as they closed in.
One feinted left. Another passed the Quaffle behind their back.
Sophie stayed focused.
Then - a shot!
She dove, stretching out her arm, and-
Caught it.
"Brilliant save by Albrecht!"
The Hufflepuff section erupted.
The match was ruthless, both teams playing their hardest. Goals were scored, blocked, stolen, and countered. Cedric was a blur of motion high above, scanning for the Snitch, while Sophie guarded the goalposts like her life depended on it.
"Hufflepuff leads, seventy to sixty!"
Then - movement.
The Snitch.
A glimmer of gold flickered above the Ravenclaw goalposts.
Cedric and Cho saw it at the same time.
They shot forward, neck and neck, wind whipping through their hair. The stadium held its breath as they closed in, hands outstretched -
