Sonic's POV:

The warmth is comforting, and I can't help but sink deeper into it. Slowly, I crack my eyes open, only to realize, once again, that I'm in Shadow's arms. Why does this keep happening? It's like every time we sleep, I end up curled against him. I must've shifted in my sleep, because now his arms are wrapped around my waist, pulling me close, my hands resting against his firm chest, my head nestled into the softness of his white fur. One of my legs is thrown over his, and his warmth seeps into me, sending a thrill through my body.

I can hear the soft rhythm of his breathing, steady and peaceful. He looks so... serene. I can't help but smile, even though I'm trying to keep my cool. I close my eyes again, the moment feeling too perfect to break. My breath deepens as I inhale the scent of lavender mixed with something unmistakably him-a musky, comforting scent I can't quite place, but I love it.

Then, I feel him stir beneath me. My heartbeat spikes, and I hold my breath, keeping my eyes closed, hoping he doesn't realize I'm awake. I sense the change in the rise and fall of his chest, letting me know he has woken up. He softly tightens his grip around my waist, pulling me even closer, almost protectively. My heart stutters, and just when I think it can't get any more intimate, his head lowers, resting gently atop mine, his muzzle brushing against my quills and I feel the softest pressure. Did... did he just kiss my head?

Maybe I'm imagining things, but I can't ignore how hot my face feels right now. It's like my heart is about to burst from my chest. And that low rumbling sound that follows? Is that... is that purring? Shadow's purring. I can feel it vibrate through his chest, a deep, content sound that sends a shiver down my spine as it echo through me.

I don't even think about it; I start purring too, quietly at first, the sound unintentionally matching his. There's a pause-then, I hear him purring again, this time deeper, louder, like he's responding to me.

Chaos, I really like him.

But before I can dwell too much on that, Onyx jumps onto the bed between us, landing with a harsh thud on my stomach. I sit up quickly, wincing. "Ugh, okay, that hurt" I mutter, clutching my stomach.

I hear a low chuckle from Shadow beside me, and I turn to face him, still trying to catch my breath. "Morning Faker" he says, his voice rough and sleepy.

My muzzle burns. "Uh, morning Shads" I mutter, feeling embarrassed as hell knowing that he emphasised that word Faker just to mess with me. If my involuntary purring didn't give away the fact that I was pretending to sleep, then that reflex definitely did. Great. Thanks Onyx.

Shadow sits up slowly, stretching his arms over his head, his messy quills sticking up in every direction. Chaos he looks so cute when he's like this. Like a soft, sleepy version of himself that I just want to cuddle.

"So," I clear my throat, trying to push the nervousness aside, "are we still good for the movies today?"

He glances over his shoulder at me, offering a small smile that makes my insides flutter. "Yeah, let's have some breakfast first though. And coffee." he says, before picking up Onyx and walking out of the room, leaving me to deal with my rapidly beating heart.

Holy shit. Me and Shads are going on a date. Wait... is it a date? I mean, I did say we were just going to hang out, but come on, this totally feels like a date, right? Does he know that? Does he feel that way too? Or maybe he thinks I just meant "hang out" as in a... casual way.

Suddenly, my thoughts are interrupted by my phone ringing. I fumble to find it in my quills and answer. "Hello!" I say, my voice practically bursting with excitement.

"Sonikku!" A girlish squeal makes me wince.

Shit, I should have checked the contact before answering.
