Hello loves! Yes I'm aware this is a very long awaited chapter! My apologies I was on vacation, and incase of any further waits, I apologize in advance. I have major exams coming up and I'm absolutley dying while preparing for them. XD

Without further ado, have fun reading this chapter! (more updates will be up shortly!!!)

We weren't outside.

But we were close.

The alarms that were set off earlier, were still on, it was annoying.

Jun-ho led the way through the lowest level of the facility, past rusted pipes and dimly flickering lights. The air smelled like damp metal and mold, and every step echoed slightly in the long hallway. We'd found a broken security blind spot, an old hallway probably abandoned during renovations.

"Exit's supposed to be two levels up," he whispered, glancing over his shoulder.

"And you're sure this isn't a fucking trap?" I muttered, keeping my hand close to the small knife I'd snagged earlier.

Jun-ho gave me a dry look. "Would I be sneaking around like a rat with you if it was? We're almost there."

"If this is another one of your 'almost there's,' I'm gonna shove your badge up your ass," I huffed.

Jun-ho let out a tired laugh. "Fair enough. But this time, I'm sure"

We moved fast but cautious, ducking under exposed wires, pausing at corners, ears tuned for footsteps or alarms. It almost felt too easy.

That should've been the first sign.

I looked over at him. His jaw was tight, brows furrowed in full focus. God, it felt like the old days—when we were partners, before all this shit, before I found out his brother was the face behind every horror I'd endured.

And now we were both crawling through hell together.

"I still can't believe this is happening again," I muttered.

Jun-ho glanced back. "We'll get out. I promised you."

I rolled my eyes. "I'd like to believe you. I really would. But something doesn't feel right."

He stopped in his tracks.

And I felt it.

That sound. The faintest mechanical click in the ceiling.

I looked up.

"Oh fuck," I breathed.

PFFT.

A dart slammed into Jun-ho's neck.

"Shit—!" He reached for it, stumbling back.

I turned around just as another one flew—straight into my side.

My knees buckled instantly. It was like gravity turned into quicksand.

Jun-ho reached for me, swaying, eyes wide and panicked.

"Y/N—no—stay awake," he croaked out, catching my shoulder.

Everything slowed.

My vision went sideways. The hallway blurred into light and darkness. I could barely hear his voice anymore. Just the pounding in my ears.

The last thing I saw was Jun-ho slumping to the ground beside me, eyes rolling back.

And then—

Nothing.

I woke up with a jolt, gasping.

The room was too bright—pure white. Empty. Silent.
