It is by the grace of a higher power that Misery gets any sleep after the debriefing.
Shortly after All Might had tried to persuade him against joining the Shie Hassaikai raid- and his subsequent knowledge that it would be happening very soon due to All Might's poor word choice- Nighteye had summoned all of the work study students to go over the information they had acquired.
Misery even managed not to scream, snap, or rage cry at any of the particularly low digs Sir Nighteye threw at him. Bakugo and Shouto both looked to be far worse off than he was. It was all well and good by him, because he got to walk away knowing that by tomorrow's end, his three plus years of hard work would be coming to a close.
He stands in the locker room, fully suited up and ready to throw hands with some yakuza fuckheads, at the ripe time of 4 in the morning.
From around the corner, he hears Bakugo slam his case back into its spot with his usual, not-a-morning-person roughness. It's paired nicely with several very colorful swear words that start loud and eventually peter out into a mumble.
"Awe, c'mon, McBlasty." Misery swings around the corner and pastes a smile on his face. While he's also not much of a morning person, pretending to be one to piss Bakugo off is one of his favorite morning activities. "Aren't you just so excited to go fight the bad guys?"
"Fuck off, nerd!" Bakugo bites, angrily doing up his boots. "It's too damn early for whatever that shit eating grin is for."
"You're lame." Misery rolls his eyes and pushes open the locker room door to find Shouto, Kirishima, Togata, and Asui already waiting.
"Ochako's almost ready." Asui says, then leans over to look around his shoulder. "Oh. There she is."
"Anger Issues McGee, too." Misery replies, before turning around and grinning at his friend. "You look so cute in your new and improved uniform, Ochako. Your design choice is 100% so well suited to you."
"I know, right!" She beams back, holding out her arms to display her sleeves. "It's so much more comfortable than I expected, too."
"Let's go, losers. This isn't a damn fashion show!" Bakugo barks out as he closes the locker room door.
Misery quickens his pace until they're walking together. Well, Bakugo is walking fast, Misery is almost jogging. "You realize you were the last one out, right?"
Bakugo scowls but otherwise ignores him. Misery and Kirishima have an entire conversation over Bakugo, who doesn't yell about being in the middle of it as he usually would. By the time they get to the bottom of the hill where the cars are waiting, the only ones who aren't pitching in on the chatter are Shouto and Bakugo.
Kirishima, Asui and Ochako take the first car, leaving Shouto, Misery and Bakugo in the second, and the third years in the last. Misery anxiously rambles for the entire car ride, speculating on how the raid will go, on what heroes will contribute in what ways.
As much as he wants to see All Might in action for himself, he can understand why patrolling was the better option for him today- considering both how he fights with his quirk and that a good 40% of this area's police and hero forces are part of this cause. Someone's gotta keep the city safe while they're busy.
Credit where credit's due, Bakugo only hits him twice.
They pull up to the Debriefing pt. 2, set to occur at the police station. They go over many things: the shortest route to Eri's location (he makes sure to ingrain the map into his brain), the available information on the Hassaikai's quirks, and the tentative plan they've made for how to get through.
