A Step Towards The Future

Izuku POV

"I'm heading out! See ya mum!"

"Have a great day Izu! Don't stay out too late, alright? Come home before dinner!"

"Hai!"
I kicked of my indoor slipper before shuffling into my shoes and rushing out the door,
"Bye mum!"

"Be careful crossing the streets!"
I heard her call out,
I was out the door.

I sprinted across the side walk, and rushed down the hill, past an all to familiar playground,
All before coming to a stop at my part way destination.

"KATTS! KATTS! WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG?"
I yelled, one would think the neighbours would be bothered by this, but after so many years, I unofficially became the neighbourhood's alarm clock.

"Morning Midoriya."
I turned to see the Bakugo's neighbour,
"Ah! Morning-"

Suddenly Katts's window slammed open, he had his blazer half on and his hair was more of a mess than usual, and a toothbrush in his mouth.
"IT'S STILL EARLY! WHY THE HECK ARE YOU HERE NERD?"

Because I like to p*ss you off.

"Early?"
I tilted my head innocently,
"What do you mean? Hurry up! We're going to be late!"

"LATE? YOU F***IN' DUMB*SS IT'S ONLY 6AM SCHOOL DOESN'T START IN ANOTHER 2 HOURS AND IT'S ONLY A 15 MINUTE WALK!"

Sudddenly Auntie Mitsuki opened the door,
"Izuku! Come in I have a kettle on the stove,"

Katsuki let out a string of curses and slammed his window shut.

I smiled,
"That sounds great!"

After a nice cup of tea with aunt Mitsuki, while uncle Mitsura had his cup of coffee,
Izuku was now walking to school with Bakugo,

"You're an *sshole you know that right?"
Bakugo muttered in annoyance.

"Thanks I try my best!"
He let out a groan at my charming enthusiasm.

Katsuki wasn't just a friend, he was like a brother.

"We should take the other road, there's villain attack on our usual path, it's too crowded."
I added.

"So what! It's not like the world is gonna end! Besides the other road takes forever!"
Katsuki muttered in annoyance.

"We'll be stuck there for a while, it's too crowded there! Besides it'll be faster this way!"
I argued, Katsuki knew how much I hated crowded places and the alternate road was a lot faster!

"But-"
I cut him off.
"Don't bother you know I'm right."

He gave up,
"Tsk."

Although we got to school pretty early we did manage to stop by a convenience store down the road and get some breakfast.
We also came across *insert the finger dude and Bakugo's lackey no2 names*

We hung out for a bit and bought some onigiris before heading to class.

In class

"All right!"
The teacher plopped a stack of papers onto her desk,
"You're all 3rd years now and it's time to start thinking seriously about your futures!"

Our futures...
I glanced at Bakugo,
He's already figured it out...
What about me?

"Now! I would hand out these career forms but..."
The teacher chucked the paper in the air dramatically,
"I assume you all want to be heroes!"

The class exploded into enthusiastic shouts as they all flaunted their quirks.

I scoffed quietly.
A hero...
It isn't even all that special.
The didn't save her.
I did.
