☆ JULIA'S EYES WIDENED as Max told her one of the many stories she'd heard while living in California. Nothing interesting ever happened here, so Julia was soaking in everything Max would tell her.
The two girls had become close quick, Max becoming attached to the blonde after they realized most of their classes were together. After school, Max asked Julia if she would accompany her to the arcade which the blonde answered with a yes, even though she secretly hated the arcade, she wanted to get to know her new friend more.
The two girls walked through the doors of the gaming space, Keith eyeing them evil-ly when he noticed Julia was there.
"Where's your little boy gang?" Keith asked snarkily, Julia laughing at how hostile all the boys were towards each other.
"Not here. I don't only hang out with them you know." Julia crossed her eyes, playfully glaring at the boy.
"Yeah seems like you just betrayed them big time. I mean, that girl is basically their enemy." Keith pointed to where Max was just starting up her game on a machine.
It was then that everything clicked. Mad Max from Dig Dug was Max. Julia mentally slapped herself. How could she be so stupid? Well, actually, she didn't care much for what the boys were complaining about yesterday so it made sense for her to forget what they were all whining about.
"Huh, weird. That didn't even click. Welp they can go cry about it." Julia shrugged with a laugh and turned on her heel to head over to her friend, leaving Keith to go about his job doing nothing. The girls instantly jumped into conversation as Julia popped up beside her friend.
Soon enough, Julia clutched her stomach from the laughter racking her body from Max telling her about the encounter with her friends at lunch. The blonde caught her breath at last, glancing at Max with a smile. "Okay, but seriously, what's the weirdest thing you've ever done?" she asked, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. Max laughed, thinking for a second. "Hmm... okay, this is kind of embarrassing, but once I tried to teach my cat how to skateboard. Like, full-on put him on a mini board and pushed him gently across the kitchen floor. He totally hated it, but I made a whole video on my camera like I was a pet trainer or something."
Julia burst out laughing. "No way! Did he actually move?"
Max shook her head, smiling. "Only when he jumped off and ran under the couch."
