Marina's (P.O.V)
I woke up to Gavin talking on the phone in my room.
I sat up in bed and thought the whole thing last night was a dream but then Gavin hung up the phone and turned to face me.
"Good you're awake. I should've never let you go to that party."
I suddenly remembered the girl on top of him last night and all the emotions from that night started coming back.
"What happened?" I asked as I tried my best to ignore my emotions.
"No one knows. Someone found you laying unconscious in the lawn at Lindsey's party last night."
I scratched my head and as tried to retrace my steps in my head but it wasn't any good. The last thing I remembered was seeing the guy who's been stalking me standing behind me after someone, no something burned the guy that was checking out my car alive.
I opened my mouth to tell Gavin about it but then I realized how crazy I would sound. I couldn't tell him about that just like I couldn't tell him about the bracelet.
"I saw him again!" I blurted out.
Gavin gave me a puzzled look.
"I saw the guy I met at the hotel."
"Did he do something to you?"
"No, no he- he left the party before I could say anything to him."
Gavin pulled his phone out of his pockets again. "We need to call the police. It's obvious that this guy is stalking you."
I rushed out of bed and ran over to Gavin to pull the phone away from him. "No police...not yet."
"He might've came back and done something to you while you were unconscious, Marina." He paused. "We need to get the police involved before something worse than him stalking you happens."
I knew he was right but I also remembered the events that happened last night and how the guy saved me from getting stabbed to death. He didn't seem like he wanted to harm me in any kind of way. I had a feeling that if he wanted that fire to touch me it would've. Any ill intentions the guy had he would've done them last night when he had me alone, but he didn't do anything. That told me two things. Be curious about the stranger but proceed with caution.
"Gavin I'm fine. The guy didn't do anything. If you're worried we can go to the hospital right now and take some tests, but I'm telling you that would be a waste of time and money."
"Okay, I'll drop it but if you see the guy again you have to promise you'll tell me."
I nodded my head.
"Now who's hungry?" I changed the subject.
"How are you so nonchalant about waking up in a lawn with no memory of what happened?"
I guess the guy took me back to Lindsey's place after I had fainted and placed me on the lawn. I wasn't mad about that... in fact I understand that they probably thought they couldn't bring me inside since it wasn't their party and they weren't invited. And I'm sure they didn't want to explain whatever the hell they were to a bunch of strangers. It sounds like I wasn't out there for long anyways so there was no need to freak out. I was more concerned that I had evidence that there was more to our world than we've been told or anyone was aware of.
"I guess because weirder things have happened to me," I said.
He lifted up an eyebrow but didn't say anything.
"Look Gavin I'm sorry that things have been weird between us since you told me you had feelings for me. You probably think that me ending up alone outside your friend's house was your fault but it wasn't. I hope you know that."
