Author's Note: Good afternoon! At least for me, lol. This is my first story on 抖阴社区, and also my longest. I use this account as an excuse to post Firewind/Airfryer/Forestfire content. Why are there so many ship names XD

I worked on this in school so please enjoy it, friends!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wind Archer was patrolling the forest per usual, since that's what he needs to do to if he wants to protect the Tree from the corruption. Many things can happen at once, so it's only necessary that he prevents it.

He continued to patrol, removing the corruption from the fallen spirits, but he somehow felt...off. Like there was something missing. But he couldn't pinpoint it. What could be this missing piece? Wind Archer didn't know, until...

"Heeey Windy~!" A voice called in. Wind Archer quickly whipped his head around fast, bow ready to aim. But when he finally came to his senses, he realized that the voice almost meant no harm.

"Woah, woah! Calm down, Wind Archer. It's just me." Fire Spirit spoke, slightly trembling. Fire Spirit rarely calls him by name, but if he does, it's mostly because of fear.

"I...apologize for scaring you." Wind Archer mumbles, to which he was given a nod from the other.

"Sure, sure. Just saying hi." The spirit says. He just floated around, following the archer on his patrol, maybe getting quite curious about the area as well.

"So...how's it going in the Dragon's Valley?" The archer asks.

"Nothing much. All I even do there is make sure that the villagers aren't fighting and all." The latter replied.

"That's it? For a Guardian, I expected way more duties, like a lot more." Wind Archer responds.

"Well, if the dragons aren't there, not much havoc usually happens. I had a lot more duties back before we met." Fire Spirit spoke.

"Fair." The other says.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After some time, he left, since he's still a Guardian, after all. Wind Archer was also finished with his patrol. But as he was going back, he noticed something...wrong. The corruption was lurking in the air, but where?

His attentive eyes stared, bow in hand. He felt it right then and there. Yet he couldn't find it, despite checking his surroundings.

"Show yourself!" He commanded.

In a flash, Pomegranate Cookie appeared, tackling the Guardian down and corrupting his sacred emerald gem. It took long, as he was fighting hard, even shooting Pomegranate Cookie in the process, but he was eventually corrupted. His black, fallen wings spreading around him.

"Yes. Night Raven, you are back. You know what to do." Pomegranate spoke, as she walked away.

His new goal: Spread the Darkness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fire Spirit decided to visit the archer, since he hasn't seen him in a few days. As he floated above the trees, he noticed. There were more fallen spirits than before, wandering the forest left and right. A fallen spirit floated above the cookie's hands, begging for freedom.

"Poor little spirit. Be free." He whispered. While he had zero idea on how to purify a spirit, he's still is made by nature, so he might be able to still do it. Closing his eyes, his flames engulfed the fallen, and corruption left its body. However, instead of the green, dove-like spirit that he's used to seeing when Wind Archer purifies fallen spirits, it became a flame, phoenix-like spirit.

"Oh?" Fire Spirit asked to particularly no one. It was his first time purifying a spirit, let alone from the forest. He let go of the spirit, who flew away. But as he watched, a purple, corrupted arrow flew, which was about to strike the now anew spirit, but it dodged, barely. It flew back to Fire Spirit in distress.

"Ok, something's up here." He thought. Fire Spirit went towards the area where the arrow came from. Even if he gets there, it's good to know that he's still above the tress, and the arrow was shot in an angle, but he can still find it. He went to search low in the forest, not wanting to consume much more energy. The phoenix perched on his back, silently watching.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He approached the area, where he saw the dark-colored, figure. He knew this all too well, seeing him a lot a few millenniums back.

"Night Raven." He snarled. Wind Archer had been taken by the corruption once again.

"Ah, look who showed up." Night Raven called, bow in hand and ready to shoot, right at his heart.

"This isn't you." Fire Spirit mumbled. But it fell on deaf ears. In a flash, Night Raven's bow struck the burning flame. Fire Spirit, yes, can revive. But his reviving works a little...different. It takes time. Lots of time.

"GAH!" He shrieked, jam spilling out of him. The phoenix-like spirit squawked in fear, that its savior is dying.

"Little bird, go. Fly high." Fire Spirit whispered, and in an instant, the phoenix flew and left, but it will come back soon, the flame just doesn't know it yet.

As he watched it leave, his flames were getting weaker. But he did his best to continue the fight with what little power he had left. Night Raven disintegrated his staff, so his powers can't be used. He knows without the Red Dragon's Bead, he's almost powerless. But he channeled his energy into one last ball of flame. He tried and used all his fire into this, which Night Raven deflected. Due to this and his bleeding, his flame has disappeared, and his body became a husk of the spark it once was, smoke all around.

"It had to end this way. It is best that corruption shall take over." Night Raven mumbled, flying away.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, with the phoenix, it flew very far just to reach the Tree, its claws held tight on the only object it needed to save its fiery friend.

The Red Dragon's Bead.
