Me and Si-eun were stocking drinks in the fridge. Su-ho was serving customers, and Beom-Seok was in the kitchen washing dishes. I let out a sigh while stacking bottles. Si-eun handed me more.

"Stop sighing and move your hands faster," Su-ho said, flicking my forehead.

"You're such an asshole. Dragging your injured friends and making them work for you," I scoffed.

"We'll eat after work. Close your mouth and move," he shot back, walking off.

I shook my head in disbelief. Si-eun looked at me."What's with that look?" I asked, putting the bottles in.

"Does he work two jobs every day?"

"No. He only does deliveries three days a week. I go with him too sometimes," I said.

"Why?"

"I like riding the bike at night," I shrugged.

"That's it?" he asked

"What?"

"No major reason?" he asked again.

"You always need a reason to do stuff?" I chuckled softly. "When did you last cry?" I asked.

"What? Why?" he asked

"Just say." I said

"I don't remember," he replied, handing me another bottle.

"I cried a lot last night," I said.

"Why? What happened?"

"I watched this movie , Forgotten. I cried."

"For a movie? " he asked in shock.

I sat in front of him sighing, "I was too happy all these days, I suddenly realized I haven't cried, so...I wanted to...because... They say the more your happy the more faster the days may go, even crying and feeling sad is necessary for humans, it's part of life, and also...your skin glows." I said with a wink.

He didn't say anything may be he thinks I am weird.

Finally, it was dinner time. Beom-Seok cleared his throat.
"Um... Si-eun... about the mock test... I'm... uh... I'm sorry," he said, voice shaking.

We could tell how much guilt he was carrying. It wasn't entirely his fault, he was threatened into it.

"Jeon Yeong-bin threatened me to... do it. And I... I didn't even know what it really... was," he added, barely meeting our eyes.

He sounded genuine, though.

"I know. It's fine," said Si-eun, looking down at the table.

Beom-Seok glanced at me. I gave him a subtle nod, like don't worry, we're good now, He nodded back and gave a small, relieved smile.

"Ahh! I'm starving!" said Su-ho, sitting beside me.He grabbed a lettuce leaf, wrapped up some chicken and sides, and stuffed it into his mouth.

Beom-Seok chuckled. "Is it good that way?"

"It is!" I said excitedly and copied him.

"Then... I'll try too," Beom-Seok smiled and gave it a go, clearly enjoying it.

"It's good, right!" I said smiling.

Su-ho made another wrap and handed it to me.

I looked at Si-eun, teasing, "Say aaah~"

"Are your hands clean?" he said.

I sighed.

"Just try it, Si-eun-ssi. Meat's best when it's a mouthful," said Su-ho with a grin.

"You can have it," Si-eun said, going back to his rice.

"Aw... hey! No one's ever regretted listening to me. Come on now."

"Aaah~" I said again, holding it out. He finally opened his mouth and ate it.

"It's good, right?" I said, smiling.

As usual, he had that blunt expression, but at least he listened.

After eating, I looked at Si-eun, "Hey, drop me home."

"I don't have a bike." he said.

"I didn't say how...just drop me," I said with a wink slinging my bag over my shoulder.

I gave Su-ho a tight hug before leaving. Beom-Seok had already left a few minutes ago.

Me and Si-eun hopped on a bus and sat down. He was listening to music, and I took one of his earbuds. He looked at me but didn't say anything.

"What?" I asked.

He didn't answer—just turned to look out the window. Our shoulders were touching. I wanted to hold his hand... but I was scared of what he might think. He walked me all the way to my dorm.

"Okay then... good night. Sleep well. You've got some pretty wounds all over," I said softly.

He nodded. He turned to leave but suddenly stopped. Then... he turned back. Our eyes locked. He stepped closer....and hugged me.

I hugged him back.

It was warm. His grip was gentle, making me feel... safe. He rested his chin on my shoulder and took a deep breath.

After a few moments, we pulled back—but his face was still close.

I couldn't resist—I kissed him on the cheek. His eyes widened.

"Good night, Si-eun-ah," I whispered, and went inside my room.

He left. I hugged my pillow and slept peacefully that night.

Meanwhile, the bookworm probably thought he could read a little before bed, even put on his classes in his laptop. But he ended up falling asleep at his table. He must've been so tired from everything.

The next day was the weekend, and of course, Su-ho and Beom-Seok dragged us out to play 8-ball pool.

"It's the weekend, don't be boring," Su-ho said, literally pulling my arm like a kid demanding candy.

Si-eun protested, clearly looking like he'd rather be in a library.

We reached the pool hall, dim lights, soft rock humming in the background, and the satisfying sound of balls clinking across tables. Honestly? It felt kinda cool.

"Alright, losers pair up. Let's see who's got skill," Su-ho announced, spinning a cue stick like he's some pro.

"Me and Si-eun," I said immediately.

"What? Why him?" Su-ho frowned.

"Because you suck at this," I scoffed.

Su-ho scoffed louder. "Tch."

We started the game. Before hitting his shot, Su-ho said, "Let's see what that hyeong will do now."

"Why? I think they'll stop," Beom-Seok muttered.

I chuckled. "They're gangsters, and they got hit by a nerd, a girl, a guy with glasses, and—" I paused.

"And what? Say 'a cool guy'," Su-ho jumped in.

"and an asshole," I finished.

Su-ho stood and shook his head in disbelief, "I shouldn't have come." he said frowning,
"Woah! That hit! Mark 10 points!" Su-ho yelled after making the shot.

"Let's see what that prick Yeong-bin will do..." I said nodding my head looking at the balls on the table.

"We should be studying for the assessment, right?" Si-eun sighed.

"Yeah, you're right," Beom-Seok agreed, probably not sure what else to say. I let out a soft chuckle.

"Si-eun-ssi, bro...it's the weekend. We need to let our blood circulate so our brain functions better," Su-ho said, hitting another ball. "We need to have a little fun."

"You're not going to college?" Si-eun asked.

"Climbing back to hell? I might go insane," Su-ho sighed. "Get up, your turn."

"Don't just sit and play hard-to-get," he added, pulling Si-eun to stand.

Then came the surprise. Si-eun was good. Like, really good. He lined up shots calmly, eyes focused, hands steady. I watched him, stunned. Who even is this guy? He played like he was using all his math, physics, maybe even chemistry knowledge just to calculate the angles. The game was over in minutes.

"You've done this before," I whispered as he sank another ball.

"Oh!" Beom-Seok gasped.

Game. Over.

"Let's go study," Si-eun said casually, slinging his bag over his shoulder.

Su-ho didn't have enough. He lost every single time to Si-eun, and yet, somehow, that only made him more obsessed.

"Just one more game!" he said—for the fifth time.

"I think the result will be the same," Si-eun said plainly, not even looking up.

"You think? Huh? You think it'll be the same?" Su-ho scoffed. "Let's bet on jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk. No, wait—gochujapchae. You in, bro?"

Si-eun sighed like a man being dragged into war and silently got back into position. So yeah, we ended up spending the entire day there.

I slumped against the edge of the pool table, cue stick leaning against my leg like a crutch."We've literally spent the whole day here," I groaned, yawning so hard my eyes watered.

I glanced at Si-eun. He looked unbothered, as always—calmly sinking balls like he had physics equations playing in his head.I couldn't tell if he was having fun or just trying to disappear.

Later...

We finally stepped out of the pool hall, the sky already dark.

"Su-ho, it's enough for today. I'm leaving," I said, brushing my hair back, already mentally listing everything I hadn't done.

"Let's have a beer," Su-ho offered, like it was nothing.

"Yeah, let's go," nodded Beom-Seok.

There it was again—that tone.It always sounded fake when Beom-Seok agreed. Like he didn't really want to, but said yes just because Su-ho said it first.I sighed, probably too loudly."Beom-Seok-ah, it's fine to say no to him, you know?" I said.

His expression shifted, like he wasn't ready to be called out so directly. He gave an awkward chuckle. "No, I want to spend time."
I didn't buy it, but I let it go."You carry on. I'm already behind schedule," said Si-eun, adjusting his backpack like a responsible citizen.

"Bye, let's meet tomorrow," I said. He waved back and walked off into the night.

"Shall I drop you?" Su-ho asked, casually.

"It's fine. You guys enjoy the beer. I'll go," I said, giving a side hug to Beom-Seok and a tight hug to Su-ho.

"You two are pretty close," said Beom-Seok, watching us.

"I've known her since we were ten, so yeah—we're really close," Su-ho said, slinging an arm around my shoulder.

We all chuckled, and I left for my dorm.

I finally came back to my room and sighed.

We had a good time.

I spent the whole day with my friends... and even with my crush.May this stay like this forever. Su-ho, me, Si-eun, Beom-Seok. I hope nothing ever comes between us.Seeing Si-eun finally mingling with people, it felt good. Honestly, I never thought I'd see him like that. Never thought I'd even talk to him, let alone kiss him... or hug him. Everything feels like a dream. A beautiful dream.
